totaly unrealistsic in the sense that jackson is supposed to be paralyzed below the neck and yet his upper body and arms are still as big as an able bodied person. they should at least cover up his upper body so we wouldent have to see his arms and chest being out of preportion to a person with such an injury. just my two cents worth
Love the actor who plays Jackson. He should win all the awards for his amazing role. He has done wonders with the script he's given everyday. I'm sure it's not easy to play someone who cannot move a muscle. Brilliant acting Marc.

A nice improvement in the storyline.... ! Though the depression in Jacson's face at the end it's just... to be weary of what's comming.... Writers,... I think there may be better ways to attract or keep the audience enthrall than just creating a stalemate mayhem.... Poor Jackson's suffered so much already, (so has Aaron) and I understand that the depression is a thing to be expected... but can't you just give him movement in his upper body (FOR STARTERRRRRR)

The writers intend for us to make an emotional investment in the characters, then they put us through tragedy by taking a stereotypical way out. It was a good episode, but the odd 'radioactive' zone between them both reminds me of those terrible beer commercials around now all about how straight men should behave with their buddies so they don't risk appearing gay...

Poor Jackson can't feel from his neck going down...The least Aaron could do is give the guy a proper tongue sucking...that kiss was just sad! And they keep going on about all the sex they use to have, but they've never shown them doing anything other than quick pecking....They should just finish this storyline because it's actually and truly insulting...The people making this show must have a serious case of the gay panic!!
@goodgirlkay Every other character on ED has sex but we never watched it. Your point is not vey strong. The storyline is huge and for more than a year now. For lighter things there are plenty of storylines on yt with gay characters you can follow. Apart from great kisses and cuteness don´t expect amazing acting and scripts though

I guess it's a matter of opinion, but I must say that you're wrong, though I suppose it's a matter of taste...What does that have to do with the lack of affection though? Can't you have both good acting and a realistic take on a gay relationship? Why the either or? By the way I used to follow the Chrolli videos and the acting and storyline was pretty damn good, also the Deniz-Roman SL can be way out there, but the acting is good.
@sanyrub I just started watching Lucas/Edwin Dutch storyline, it's pretty new and rather entertaining, you should check it out...if you haven't already, that is.
@goodgirlkay I´ve followed all those storylines. My first one was McDean back in 2007 so yes I know what I´m talking about. The ones that you are mentioning are great. I like many of those and right now I´m loving Ludwin. But the truth is all those other actors are ok, these 2 or James Sutton are fantastic (just watch the crash episode, acting on there shits on every other soap with gay storyline). And yes I know, there is huge lack of affection but good kissing is not that great art, acting is
@AlanRM1000 Believe me mate. I´ve seen it all. And yes James is the other one apart from these two for me. I was refering to the current storylines on different shows. What Danny and Marc have done is incomparable though. Of course the storylines they have been getting help to show all the dramatic acting skills. And of course James was better at kissing (it was HO, it´s a really different soap). But seriously I prefer amazing actors like the 3 mentioned than ok actors that show great chemistry
@goodgirlkay Does Jackson look like he wants to have his tongue sucked? Aaron is trying to be respectful of his lover's feelings and needs, not just get his rocks of because Jackson's in bed with him. When and if they have sex again it has to be mutual and right now Jackson's self esteem is so low and his depression is so deep, he can't bare the thought of something that intense. Aaron is being a good, loving boyfriend by just making sure Jackson knows that he wants to be close to him.

@goodgirlkay I have no doubt they are careful about what they show between A&J however it's extremely rare for any character on ED to get a real love scene, usually just kissing and fade to black or you see them going up the stairs, A is one of the few characters which we have actually seen inside the bedroom of... although admittedly other characters kiss a bit more enthusiastically. I do wonder if the kissing being so lackluster is less to do with the writing and more to do with the actors

P's head is awful. i was stunned when i saw it. the first words popped in my head was "what the hell happened to his hair?" or has he always worn a wig? because you can see there's no hair on the top.
what's wrong with J?A's doing everything to cheer him up. A just wants some quality time with his bf but J seems relutant to do anything. he should put some effort as well to make the relationship work otherwise...in fact all he has to do is embrace and show some enthusiasm. btw they never hugged,anybody notice that?J has been moody and grumpy since the accident but that's understandable. he used to be a nice lad and i like the old J.these episodes are fantastic! so looking forward to next week.

I like the idea of Jackson having an operation which gives him back the use of his limbs. But something happens and he forgets the last year of his life with Aaron.

I thought Emmerdale had a policy of never showing 2 men in bed on a 7 PM show. Guess it's OK, if one of them is paralyzed from the neck down. That's why they did this to Jackson, to get around the no bed-sharing policy.
@alwaysuseless No they did it as well in Hollyoaks with JP AND Craig and also ahve seen it on The welsh Soap People of the valley there really should be no reason why they should not be able to see them lying in bed together or evenkissing at this time of night.

@jenn1916 I'm not sure it is official policy. It's just that ED seem to get very timid. For example the highly touted scene where Cain was supposed to try 2 throttle Charity on Thursday was very heavily (not to say clumsily) edited, so it had hardly any point, let alone drama. ED is the eunachs of the soap world: they know HOW it's done, the SEE how other soaps do it, but they can't do it themselves. All trailer & no big picture
@alwaysuseless The policy (from what I've heard) isn't about two men being in bed. The policy is that one man has to have a shirt on if two men are in bed together. This is comparable to when a man and a woman are in bed. The woman's breast are covered even if the man's chest is exposed. Two women would both need to be covered up up top (I'd imagine) so it's the lezzies who lose out.
At any rate, it seems to be a UK Soaps thing, not just Emmerdale. Late night shows are different.
@alwaysuseless Doctors and Hollyoaks have each shown two men in bed together but they always have one with a shirt and one without (or both with a shirt). I don't know if Eastenders have shown two men in bed. I'm pretty sure Coronation Street has not.

OMG! The both guys are briliant! What a performance. Kudos to Marc for giving so complex performance - it' obviously not easy for Jackson to let Aaron close to him after all this. We can see how torn apart he is - he want it and not... I think if they went too far in this scene with full phisical contact - it wouldn't work so well as it did. Thanks guys for this!
Jackson really wants his dad with him now, he even defended him!!! Probably because Aaron reminds him of the life they had and what he can't do anymore AND Hazel smothers him, plus all those pep talks from her that clearly annoys him. And, of course, Jerry is trying to get closer.

Wow!!! Completely surprised by this episode!! Thought the kiss was great - the most natural looking one so far I think. And I loved the dialog and situation, albeit awkward. I thought Aaron was being very sweet and I loved that Aaron was annoyed by the lovey-dovey stuff Jackson brought out of him. The bit in the bed was a shocker and cute as well. It's so strange because it seems like the writers have been listening to everyone on here who complains. Not much negative you can say about this ep!

Judging by some of their efforts, I'd be surprised if the muppets of Emmerdale can actually read - they certainly don't write very well i.e. Jimmy's "amnesia",All right the actor is terrible but the writing isn't far behind

I thought that the ex-wife was going to be like a Coronation Street Tracy or Eastenders Janine or Home & Away Amanda type character .... but.... nothing.... :-/ ??? It seems now, that Emmerdale have a habit of introducing a whole lot of characters without them having big initial storylines until a year later, e.g. Nikhil & Jai were around a bit before they got any substantial material to work with...

Ah! how interesting. I don't know where this is going, but most soap stories are pretty predictable and considering Jacksons' situation and the emotional roller coaster ride that he has put himself and his loved ones through I will not be surpised if this show of affection is short lived. There has to be some drama or tragedy, I would guess that Jackson does not want to live like this, and will probally either think about it and or plan doing himself in. It's the next logical soap step.
Referring to the row they had the last time they were in that bed - when they could still be intimate with each other. Aaron is so happy and Jackson is just dying inside. it's heartbreaking to watch.
I think that Emmerdale writers have been reading all of our comments about watching some of the other soaps with gay couples...especially GTST. Ludwin is rocking!

It's just that for the first time, IMO, they actually had an entire episode of Aarson acting like a real couple who is going through the situation they're in...I mean, with all the issues J currently has & all the issues that A has been trying to work through, tonight's episode really gave the impression this could have happened in real life with a couple going through the same thing - which is not ED's greatest strength (& other soaps have excelled @).
I really liked this episode. I finally felt that Danny Miller found a little bit of himself as an actor here. The scenes didn't feel forced. The interaction between him & Mark 5:26 on...the smiles were real, the kiss was warm and loving, all around great acting. I am really impressed & hope this is the beginning of more scenes like this (especially because I have not been too impressed so far with Danny Miller's ability to show feelings so far).

Despite the reluctant face that Jackson has in the beginning and despite Aaron's effort, I still think today's episode is a good one. I really like Aaron now because it's obvious that he's wiling to do everything he can to make sure Jackson knows how he feels about him. If it's the *Aaron before, he won't be able to even touch someone, be afraid to even get close to a guy and wouldn't even say how he feel. But after everything, he actually knows what it's like when he has missed someone.

Poor Jackson can't feel from his neck going down...The least Aaron could do is give the guy a proper tongue sucking...that kiss was just sad! And they keep going on about all the sex they use to have, but they've never shown them doing anything other than quick pecking....They should just finish this storyline because it's actually and truly insulting...The people making this show must have a serious case of the gay panic!!

@goodgirlkay Every other character on ED has sex but we never watched it. Your point is not vey strong. The storyline is huge and for more than a year now. For lighter things there are plenty of storylines on yt with gay characters you can follow. Apart from great kisses and cuteness don´t expect amazing acting and scripts though

I guess it's a matter of opinion, but I must say that you're wrong, though I suppose it's a matter of taste...What does that have to do with the lack of affection though? Can't you have both good acting and a realistic take on a gay relationship? Why the either or? By the way I used to follow the Chrolli videos and the acting and storyline was pretty damn good, also the Deniz-Roman SL can be way out there, but the acting is good.

@goodgirlkay I´ve followed all those storylines. My first one was McDean back in 2007 so yes I know what I´m talking about. The ones that you are mentioning are great. I like many of those and right now I´m loving Ludwin. But the truth is all those other actors are ok, these 2 or James Sutton are fantastic (just watch the crash episode, acting on there shits on every other soap with gay storyline). And yes I know, there is huge lack of affection but good kissing is not that great art, acting is

@AlanRM1000 Believe me mate. I´ve seen it all. And yes James is the other one apart from these two for me. I was refering to the current storylines on different shows. What Danny and Marc have done is incomparable though. Of course the storylines they have been getting help to show all the dramatic acting skills. And of course James was better at kissing (it was HO, it´s a really different soap). But seriously I prefer amazing actors like the 3 mentioned than ok actors that show great chemistry

Aaron is trying to be respectful of his lover's feelings and needs, not just get his rocks of because Jackson's in bed with him. When and if they have sex again it has to be mutual and right now Jackson's self esteem is so low and his depression is so deep, he can't bare the thought of something that intense. Aaron is being a good, loving boyfriend by just making sure Jackson knows that he wants to be close to him.

@goodgirlkay I have no doubt they are careful about what they show between A&J however it's extremely rare for any character on ED to get a real love scene, usually just kissing and fade to black or you see them going up the stairs, A is one of the few characters which we have actually seen inside the bedroom of... although admittedly other characters kiss a bit more enthusiastically. I do wonder if the kissing being so lackluster is less to do with the writing and more to do with the actors

what's wrong with J?A's doing everything to cheer him up. A just wants some quality time with his bf but J seems relutant to do anything. he should put some effort as well to make the relationship work otherwise...in fact all he has to do is embrace and show some enthusiasm. btw they never hugged,anybody notice that?J has been moody and grumpy since the accident but that's understandable. he used to be a nice lad and i like the old J.these episodes are fantastic! so looking forward to next week.

Like the Emmerdale writers and producers, Ian, you seem never to have heard of clinical depression.

I thought Emmerdale had a policy of never showing 2 men in bed on a 7 PM show. Guess it's OK, if one of them is paralyzed from the neck down. That's why they did this to Jackson, to get around the no bed-sharing policy.

I find the lack of kissing and just general intimacy weird , even before the accident. I know a lot of people think the actors are uncomfortable but I guess I'm blind cuz I don't see it. I am just bummed that I just got just into this storyline and (according to spoilers) will end very soon. :(

@jenn1916 I'm not sure it is official policy. It's just that ED seem to get very timid. For example the highly touted scene where Cain was supposed to try 2 throttle Charity on Thursday was very heavily (not to say clumsily) edited, so it had hardly any point, let alone drama. ED is the eunachs of the soap world: they know HOW it's done, the SEE how other soaps do it, but they can't do it themselves. All trailer & no big picture

@alwaysuseless The policy (from what I've heard) isn't about two men being in bed. The policy is that one man has to have a shirt on if two men are in bed together. This is comparable to when a man and a woman are in bed. The woman's breast are covered even if the man's chest is exposed. Two women would both need to be covered up up top (I'd imagine) so it's the lezzies who lose out.
At any rate, it seems to be a UK Soaps thing, not just Emmerdale. Late night shows are different.

OMG! The both guys are briliant! What a performance. Kudos to Marc for giving so complex performance - it' obviously not easy for Jackson to let Aaron close to him after all this. We can see how torn apart he is - he want it and not... I think if they went too far in this scene with full phisical contact - it wouldn't work so well as it did. Thanks guys for this!

Wow!!! Completely surprised by this episode!! Thought the kiss was great - the most natural looking one so far I think. And I loved the dialog and situation, albeit awkward. I thought Aaron was being very sweet and I loved that Aaron was annoyed by the lovey-dovey stuff Jackson brought out of him. The bit in the bed was a shocker and cute as well. It's so strange because it seems like the writers have been listening to everyone on here who complains. Not much negative you can say about this ep!

The Emmerdale writers didn't really bother to give him a personality - but then they haven't given one to any of Declan's family and they were/are around longer than Flynn

I thought that the ex-wife was going to be like a Coronation Street Tracy or Eastenders Janine or Home & Away Amanda type character .... but.... nothing.... :-/ ??? It seems now, that Emmerdale have a habit of introducing a whole lot of characters without them having big initial storylines until a year later, e.g. Nikhil & Jai were around a bit before they got any substantial material to work with...

Ah! how interesting. I don't know where this is going, but most soap stories are pretty predictable and considering Jacksons' situation and the emotional roller coaster ride that he has put himself and his loved ones through I will not be surpised if this show of affection is short lived. There has to be some drama or tragedy, I would guess that Jackson does not want to live like this, and will probally either think about it and or plan doing himself in. It's the next logical soap step.

It's just that for the first time, IMO, they actually had an entire episode of Aarson acting like a real couple who is going through the situation they're in...I mean, with all the issues J currently has & all the issues that A has been trying to work through, tonight's episode really gave the impression this could have happened in real life with a couple going through the same thing - which is not ED's greatest strength (& other soaps have excelled @).

I really liked this episode. I finally felt that Danny Miller found a little bit of himself as an actor here. The scenes didn't feel forced. The interaction between him & Mark 5:26 on...the smiles were real, the kiss was warm and loving, all around great acting. I am really impressed & hope this is the beginning of more scenes like this (especially because I have not been too impressed so far with Danny Miller's ability to show feelings so far).

Despite the reluctant face that Jackson has in the beginning and despite Aaron's effort, I still think today's episode is a good one. I really like Aaron now because it's obvious that he's wiling to do everything he can to make sure Jackson knows how he feels about him. If it's the *Aaron before, he won't be able to even touch someone, be afraid to even get close to a guy and wouldn't even say how he feel. But after everything, he actually knows what it's like when he has missed someone.

Since previous soap operas have had wildly implausible storylines ranging from amensia to unknown twins to miracle cures, I don't think anyone would have a problem if the writers of Emmerdale came up with a "magical" cure for Jackson's paralysis. A bold new operation! Injection of stem cells! Muscle implants! Anything so this two lovely
