Surya Bonaly 1996 Worlds free program (Quad Salchow attempt)

i think this was probably the most well choreographed and most interesting free program of her entire career. the music highlighted her strengths and suited her style extremely well. agreed very much with the long held spiral and despite the straight line entrances into the 3flip and 3loop, she actually did display some depth of edges and interesting steps even if some of the jumps didn't work out. personally, i would have put this ahead of slutskaya's LP and certainly butyrskaya's LP here.

I like that this is probably the only program where I've seen her hit a really nice forward spiral position. The first one she does here looks gorgeous.

Sarah Kawahara created another masterpiece for Surya. I just wish that Surya could have skated cleaner this 95/96 season.

Love the music, she performed very well. Drop the quad for triple salchow and watch the mark difference.

They said she's been landing quad salchows in practice. I would've loved to see her land one in competition and see what kinda scores the judges would've given her for it.

I think it's a great program as well. I've never been able to find out what the first part of her music is... i love this piece it's killing me i can't find it!

I disagree w/Dick Button...I luv this program & the dramatic music really goes well with her arm/leg movements & esp the 2 double axels together, the Lutz set-up, the quad attempt, the triple triple combo...loved that she finally held her spiral position longer!!!
