I simply LOVE JP, but one thing I wonder about is how a leading expert on dinosaurs like that Jack Horner they consulted, never told them that velociraptors weren't bigger than turkeys?
If this were made today, it would been Sam Neil and the kids in a big empty green room and it would look like shit. Why can't they make 'em the way they used to with so much TLC?
The majority of the current movies doesnt have the big budget that Spielberg had doing JP to afford lots of very expensive animatronics and the very best sfx studio to make it all work together and be belivable. Its much easier to hire a cheap CGI studio to make all the work without spending with employees, cenarious, designers and logistics. The results obviously fails in comparrison but the public buys it anyway.
@baconmeats actually,i saw it on this channel called sy-fy a few days ago,it was really good but i can only remember one scene that was really intense (T-REX car scene) but it was overall good
@RebeccaM17 actually,i saw it on this channel called sy-fy a few days ago,it was really good but i can only remember one scene that was really intense (T-REX car scene) but it was overall good
@jakamo The CGI hasn't gotten worse. It's the creators/directors who make this heartless stories thinking that the CGI will make up for it, I.E. Transformers 2 etc, and of course it doesn't and we end up with shitty movies.
@hitmancoolio That is true about crappy transformers films etc but I still stand by the fact that the CGI in JP1 was much superior to the crap in JP3 because of the love that went into crafting the CGI and Spielberg knew there was no point in doing it if it wouldn't work, so there was no compromise and as a result it's almost unbelievable till this day. Other films look nice but you are taken out of the experience straight away because it is obviously CGi.
Do you realise they did the CGI back then with no fancy 3D studio max or whatever and the CGI in JP to this day, over 10 years later, does not look outdated; these people didn't fuck around.
Fuck yes dude! He designed everything

@ztslovebird Because they were bird hipped, not lizard hipped.

I LOVE Steven Speilberg's attitude. He was having KID fun with it. Wonder if he was having the same nightmares with this as he did with Jaws.
