Wow! what an eye opener. I've been playing live (weekly) for about 9 years and this is the first time I've ever heard this. Thank you very much for posting.
@techzany Good idea. But, I rather fix the basic problems first. If the problem persists, then I upgrade to a VooDoo Power 2 9VDC supply next (I have, by the way) to get rid of hum from transformer driven lights like fluorescent and neon lights. Adding filters/isolators interferes with sound quality. I also don't use anti-feedback devices because they kill harmonics that are important to instruments. Thanks for the feedback!
@MrMatidor The RCA's on the mixer are for the IPOD. An XLR or TRS connection is not the solution. If you plug an XLR/TRS cable to a device that does not process the XLR signal, then you have an unbalanced cable and you can get hum. Guitars and HI-Z mics do not use XLR connections typically and you have to be aware of the cabling proximity to transformers. Or use a direct box and feed them to a balanced processor. Thanks for viewing the video and the comment!
Cool stuffs! I have ordered the same Mackie. I have a Samson wireless system and if I plug the output direcly to my effects, I got a week and flat sound. So I'm going to add this nice little table before my effects chain. I'm going to build my own cable with Mogami cables. Thanks for sharing your experience! S.
Very useful video, sir i am having loud hum when i use distortion, and ur right , my cables are so messy on the floor , the main prblem is internet provider cable taped together rounded , left in my room . i will try to fix it out . thanks man!!! very different approach of removing hum. all other videos were suggesting noise gates stuffs .
Anyone know how much Phantom Power the MACKIE pushes?!

@BlackBarred 48VDC, which is standard. Used it on the condenser mics that I play with like the Audio Technica AT2020.

Avoid using RCA cables(unbalanced). Use XLR or TRS cabling(balanced). One is grounded the other is not.
