No rotoscoping in the field shot at all. Part of the test for that was to see how much I could achieve without roto. That shot is entirely luma and chroma keys applied to the sky with a lil matte cleanup. (normally i'd roto though)
@1981z28camaro I know that using green screen is important because the color is different from other colors on common clothes and etc, about blue screen idk, maybe is the same thing
@1981z28camaro hey camaro - RazaKator was on the money. The idea behind any blue/green/purple screen is that the colour (often referred to as chroma blue or chroma green etc) is a colour that will not occur naturally. This allows you to select that range of colour in post to remove it from your image.
You can make one yourself. I've done shots with $20 of blue fabric stretched out in the background. The higher resolution the camera, the better, but any will do essentially.
hi, i like this video allot, i want to ask you iff you can do a tutorial on how to make that first image... the atmosfere, background and color correction, because im going to start a movie in school and i want to learn every thinkg i can before it, perfect image 100\100
I must admit that there was no lighting on the blue screen at all... we just wanted to test out the new fabric that we'd bought. Lighting is an important factor. For higher quality blue screen work, check out 'The Courier' on my channel. Thanks again!
Oh man... this looks good :D

Why is using a blue screen important?
I think I remember hearing that camera's don't pick up the color blue (Certain shade of blue of course) is that why?
what if someone wants to create their own blue screen set...how much does that cost?
and what camera's are recommended?
Thanks!

You've come a long way from lightsaber duel's and dragonball blasts in the vacant block as a kid. That was cool.

hehehe, had to start somewhere :) thanks! and this is stuff i kind of spat out as proof of concepts to make sure we weren't insane for attempting it.
but i still do like lightsabers a whole lot!

VFX are really well done, but blue screen lighting needs major fixing... over exposed and needs lighting from behind so they don't look so flat.
Really amazing work apart from that, I know they're just test, but that was the only thing that jumped out at me :)
