@0x51d So, I rushed out to buy the 12" album when it was first released. It featured the most awful version of "New Song". Later, I got my copy of the extended version that was featured on 12" 80s Pop [Box set]. But in 2010!!!! :)))))))))))))))))

This is the song that made me want to write music, I was only a kid at the time (about 9) and I wanted the synth on the cover, 20 odd years later and I have had a few releases, does anyone know what that synth is on the cover though? from the vid it looks a bit like a juno 2, but could be mistaken.

I've always loved the way these 80s 12" mixes broke the track right down then built it back up again, they are really hard to find on cd

Oh 80's 12inch mixes, they're a bit like getting the original and stretching it at either end. Sometimes it works, but very often it don't.

You can seriously hear when MDMA started to influence the remix scene - and thank God for it!!

Somewhere I have a cassette of Howie's 12" Album (as in an album of 12" versions), and this song is on it. But it's a completely different mix, with some nice vocal layering at the end.

More's the pity, it's a cassette which means poor quality. I don't suppose you have this on vinyl too, and would be interested in uploading?
