I don't think it has much to do with race.

This video seems to travel through time. In the beginning, you can see flashes of the man in her eyes. In the end, the dissonant note and posture of the man suggest an argument. The scenes of her in the bar show many men trying to earn her attention. While her outward physical signs are mildly reactive, her emotions remain unenthusiastic and wistful.
