Arthur once in 1980...she was a friend of my friend Lu Leonard (another great character actress)...Bea had come to visit Lu in North Hollywood before Lu moved back to NYC to do a Broadway show...it was 9:00 am and I happened to stop by...Ms. Arthur was sipping a scotch and water and smoking a cigarette, at that moment I fell in love with her...R.I.P.
