I read him up and i apologize. He was the second child at that care place he was B and the other was A. A commited suicide because the presure of the household was too much and B ran away. His eyes are the shinigami eyes he was born with them though people dont know how or why.

(except they mentioned his story a few times in the anime and he appeared once in a Death Note special), but he has his own novel called: Another Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases (Ha, I haven't read the novel, but I know so much about him. There's a part somewhere in the middle of it where ppl say they see BB, it's where L is talking to the Wammy kids, and you can see him standing to the side (although you don't actually see his face T_T but I think you can see he has a creepy smile on it XD). They also have the 1st part, Re Light 1: Visions of a God, but that one is more about Light/Raito.

The way LABB was wrighten, it was to make us suspect that L was helping Naomi Misora, thus to make us shocked at the end. But, no, Beyond Birthday is just obsest with surpassing L and making himslef look like him.
