I HAVE A 8-hr course on Pro Tools, I can teach you how to use every feature in Pro Tools down to the minute detail. Very comprehensive videos teach you at your own pace to run Pro Tools 9(any version) like any Professional Music Engineer. Prices are very low, reply to comment for info.
you turn and turn and turn the buttons, but its nothing going on, nothing changes realy, thats not an compressor, a real kompressor have must punching the drums down or up , so it must compressing and not equlising like this here.
@Tiyarro He thnx, no problem. I searched a lot to understand compressors and how to setup a compressor. So this might also help others ho search for an answer. Thnx for the comments!
this is about the 400th vid i watched on compression and im still lost lol been a year now and i still cant stop my fucking drums from clipping and im fucked off now, anything else im kool wit but this fucking compressor killing me
@rav3nac08 Don't feel too bad, because most of these videos are very poorly explained. Sound engineers are notorious for being very, very bad at explaining sound engineering. Maybe you could hire a good drum tech just once to help you figure it out. I know, $pendy, but maybe it will save you a lot of hassle later.
good clear instuctions on the functions of a compressor..thanks

how do you know if your signal is louder or lower than the threshold
Vtruth 3 years ago
you have to use your meters. most compressor plug ins should have an input and output meter on them and look to see what decible you threshold is on
