  • Robert Redford does love the west....... just because he has a different belief system than yours is no reason to think that he doesn't love freedom, isn't honest, or question is personal accountability. I think that you may just need to grow up and accept others for who they are... in other words, mind your own business... and keep your nose out of his. On that note, have a nice day. :)

  • As I was watching this movie I was thinking that bears hibernated during the winter months. I assumed all bears hibernated. According to wikipedia, in some areas where food is plentiful year round, grizzly bears skip hibernation altogether.

  • What a wonder Jeremiah didn't freeze, or starve, to death that first winter. For no more than he's wearing he must have had on some very effective long underwear. I live in the U.P. Cold is cold.

  • OLD MAN FTW!!! "SKIN THAT 'UN PILGRIM, AND I'LL GET YEH ANOTHER" most epic line in movie history

  • this is brilliant thanks for uploading

  • why he works with the firestone? They have a fire!

  • I didn't think there were any flathead or blackfeet indians in colorado. I thought they were in Idaho and Montana.

  • @Varangian1915 I don't think there were many but there could have been small groups

  • "i never could find no tracks to a womans heart"

  • @odst444666 At this time (probably the late 1830's) they would be using percussion cap firearms, still single shot and muzzleloading. Some have said that JJ carries a revolver... nope. He's armed with a .50 Harper's Ferry or US Army issue single shot pistol.

  • @cleekmaker00

It could go either way, though a flintlock is more self contained and so a better choice. You can keep your powder dry all you want, but if you have a caplock and loose your tin of them up in those mountains, your out of luck in a bad way... Also, the revolver bit comes from the book "Crow Killer" you should check that out. If you like the movie, the book has 10X more adventure in it that never made it to the script

  • we are missing actors like will Geer nowadays

  • what kind of rifles are they using? flintlock, caplock? or something else?

  • Hatchet jack was a good man.

  • Too bad Robert Redford is such a raging liberal and hates all facets of the true western lifestyle of freedome, personal accountability and honest!

  • @IruleOverProgressive You seriously spelled freedom with an E at the end? Redford works to protect the environment and lives in the West.

  • @IruleOverProgressive

Yeah for all the shows he's starred in that are western, and the values those movies typically promote... I mean... what the fuck.

  • @IruleOverProgressive Too bad you dont know dick about Robert

  • A true treasure of a movie.

  • god has nothing better to do so fucks with jeremiah at :33

  • @answerz2no1 I realize you're probably just kidding, but y'know it made me think: God sure gets blamed for a lot doesn't he?

  • "50. cal hawking!" *BOOM*

  • @Erika445566 That's Hawken.

  • @AReferee My mistake ;( dont know a lot about guns!

  • THIS IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE MOVIE when he find hachet jack is one of my favorite parts

  • So Hollywood!!! Years in the woods and his teeth are white, His hair is groomed, and his clothes are clean

  • Anyway, I am dead. Yours Truly, Hatchet Jack

  • Just like to say thanks for putting all the parts of this film together and making it easy to watch. It is an excellent film and you are to be commended for your thughtful actions.

  • @Dreamerweaver2 I second that

  • If I was him I'd take the meat from the horse. He probably did that I'm not sure...

  • 07:21 Two soldiers.

    (sounds of crickets......)

  • @GradyBaby13 oh yes well if you dont want to understand you never will

  • @chrissept21

It's one thing to say you could live like that, it's another thing to pack your belongings and go to the mountains to live. What's stopping you?

  • @GradyBaby13 i have family and friends a job i cant just get up and leave

besides how do you know i wont one day

  • @chrissept21

Just asking, do what you want, I'm gonna just curl up under a warm blanket. However, I did have a dream last night about a tree that was in my yard. The tree feld down in my neighbors yard. I tried to pull the tree back into my yard, and the tree was all rotted inside. There were a whole lot of those bugs that curl into a little ball. I almost got sick in my dreams. Point being: "You can have the Great Outdoors, I love concrete and steel"

  • @GradyBaby13 LOL nice dream, btw are you a girl? or a guy?

you dont eat bugs when your in the forrest you eat the deer jj shot

  • @GradyBaby13 family friends... etc...

  • @chrissept21 I'll say it is. My friend gave me a flint and steel and I practically danced when I started my wood stove with it. :) My dad can work a bow drill, but I haven't succeeded at it yet either.

  • "I am Bear Claw Chris Lapp, blood kin to the grizzler that bit Jim Bridger's ass."

  • "Mountain's got its' own ways."

  • "Musta missed another war down there."

    "Didn't miss nothin' ".

  • "Meanest bitch that ever bawled for beads".

Seems women ain't changed much in the last 150 years.

  • "Whatever you learned down on the flat will serve you no good up here."

  • In the book, he said "Fer ten year I packed me a squaw, a Cheyenne she war, and the meanest bitch ever bawled for beads. I lodgepoled her up on Dead Wolf Crick and traded her fer a Hawken gun."

    Pronunciation note: "war" = "was"

  • a full time night woman lmao

  • that old guy is histarical lol

  • At 3:59 is that a sign on that tree? Right in the middle.

  • i don't know ih that's a sign but i'm certain that you have good eyes for seeing that lol

  • You know what really strange, that could be one of those no trespassing signs or the like, just at the moment the man says "That be far enough pilgrim". What would the odds be?

  • Great movie, seems like something straight out of a Jack London novel. Great performance by Redford as well.

  • wouldnt bears up that far that late be hibernating.

  • How do you think he found it so quickly? He chased it out of the den.

  • well the bear could have been hibernating the old guy probably woke him up thats why the bear was soo pissed of haha

  • .50 caliber Hawken

  • bear claw is a gankster

  • he said he "lodge poled" her which was ebay of the wild west, and traded her for a Hawken gun.

  • they don't make movies like this no more!

  • Its very nice of you to put this on for us people who like REAL entertainment.Ahh the good movies from the good ol days.

  • It has been years since I saw this amazing film. I have got find this on DVD. They DO NOT make films like this anymore.

  • your right about that and yeah i know finding this on dvd or even vhs is pretty hard to do

  • I just bought the DVD off of ebay for $12. It was released on DVD in 1997 with remastered sound : )

  • yeah thats awesome i wish i had a credit card right now i would get one but im worried im going to blow it all and screw my credit lol

  • Been there done that!! I messed my credit up so bad wont anyone loan me any money. Ohh well, now when I buy something its mine and I dont owe anyone anything for it.

Credit is a form of slavery in my humble opinion. They allow you to charge more than your worth and then you spend the rest of your life trying to pay them off. I'd rather be broke and actually own what I have ; )

  • oh i agree 100% but im waiting a while before i blow my credit lol :)

  • but yeah i was always told bad credit is better than no credit so what the hell

  • Man I got to reach watch this movie! It's been way to long!
