Why have you the Tm running so fast? Idrive a 998 with an MX 110 running 540 in the 1000 speed box at half revs. The pump on the 998 takes very little power, our 80hp 4230 drives it no problem.
the Duals are on for the same reason i have super singles on the baler tractor it is so wet here. if i rut the fields up or compact the ground i have to; A) live with the ruts for 3 more years, or B) i loose the alfalfa under the tire tracks. also i left the duals on so i can line the bale up if i see 20mm between the tire and the bale in my mirror its lined up bang on also that tracto runs a big brush cutter and it needs the duals so i don't flip the tractor and in lazy take them on and off
We can preserve the hay at 30% but that is the highest, also the acid would be going on at the high rate and would cost $7 per bale, you have to store them inside and you run the risk of burning down the barn. this year we took out some bales that had ash in the middle. we may think of something like this.
the hay that was in the tarp shed without the tarp was bailed at 25%. only 196 bales like that and the acid was put at 10L/mt which is $13 per bale and i charge $9.50 to wrap the hay so it more economical to wrap the hay also it rains every two days and you can't make dry hay
ya that is what im saying, you can preserve hay with acid up to 30%. but it is probly a smart idea not to cause it still wont be great hay and it is more expensive.
High, 4$ per bale for the plastic, on top of that you need a tractor, the wrapper and a man. All this over and above the cost of making the bale. I don't see this as a good way to make feed but wrapping bales is very popular in this area.
It isn't the farmers that don't want to recycle Ron. It is the god damned environmentalist nazis that won't let us. The plastic is dirty and they won't take it unless it is pressure washed and then dried. Any hay or dirt on the plastic and they will reject it at the plant. SO STUPID!!!
The wrapper could keep up...as it states in the info for the video...the issue is that the wrapper is PTO driven and a tractor can only run one PTO at a time it has to be pulled on its own...and i would imagine operating that monster while baleing would be utter hell
SLOW!?!?!?!?!?!?! OMG, you have obviously never seen a normal wrapper if you think 15 seconds per bale is slow. Most are 2 minutes and you are not driving to the next bale while it is wrapping. This is a very efficient wrapper.
nice nice hey farmerknowbest can u make a video of showing a combine controls well if you can that would be great for me. I'm starting a job that i need to drive a combine and well i can't so i was just wondering if you might be able to do that well thanks if you can do that love the new bailer thing caust in money well that must be alot of money well thanks
Madness running the pto so fast. We run the same wrapper on a 6630 540pto at 1000 revs if that... doesnt need that fast a oil flow

@georgemx135 We don't have economy pto's here in North America. So to achieve the proper speed you have to run the engine fast.
Farmerknowsbest 2 years ago
you must have a 1000pto on your tracs to big bale with though so leave it in that and run it at 1100 rpm ish = 540pto speed
1PHILL1S 1 year ago
why not run it in 1000 and back the revs off like george said?

That was a very good video thank you for sharing.
Looks like the operator picked up on it pretty quick. Although I really would have thought it would be alot nicer with the duals off.

Why do you wrap the bailes?
stroln 2 years ago
The bales are made when the hay is 30% moisture. They would heat and spoil if not wrapped. The bale ferments like silage does and is preserved.

I am not a farmer but all that plastic must cost a fortune.
could you not pull that wrapping machine behind the baler or would it be too slow to keep up? it did seem like a good machine but slow.
