2 BIG mistakes

1- DON'T REV IT !!!!!! especially if it sat for A WEEK

2- don't pump gas

Why pump the thottle before starting, does nothing in a efi system. In a carburetored car it squirted some gas into the intake manifold giving a richer mixture.

Cold start and than reving. Nice going...

yea pleping the throttle is not what you want to do... Merc has a cold start program like 99% of all EFI vehicles.
