He's downtown, alone, impaired, and searching for something/anything that will work to take it away. After one last personally-heroic effort to suppress or run from the pain he passes out. He's high and hidden in the alley corner. Maybe he'll be alive tomorrow. But at least he doesn't hurt so much.
