  • I got this computer :D !!!! Thumbs up so eveyrone can see :3

  • Without Microsoft, Apple would've been today. Apple is here (which is good) for Microsoft.

At the time, I think Macs were really bad computers. People that bought them were just people that wanted to be "different" and all of that, but they were very bad computers.

  • Weird thing is, I have NO idea what an American accent sounds like... since I am american....and I can't tell what out accent is like :D

  • Portable my arse!

  • What's with John Cleese putting on an American accent!! He sounds so much better just being himself.

  • LOL! Love these ads! Ironically, I moved from a 2004 Compaq 5200 to a 2008 iMac, and the mac simply works better. The Compaq was flooded with viruses.

  • Haha. He walls of the chair.

  • in that age if that was portable then every computer here today is call portable

  • This commercial is almost prophetic.

  • hahahah Compaq vs. Mac .... how did THAT all turn out?

  • We all got a pizza.

  • Yes because its bought by douches like the guy portrayed in the video, Theres a lot of them.

    Style over substance.

  • Yeah, except macs have just as much substance now too.

  • It didn't; Apple's computers weren't called Macs at that time.

  • does anybody know where to find the US tv ad with John Cleese from 1988 or 1990. I think it was an ad for a chocolate, first he showed the british way then he showed the american way jumping through some paper circus ring

  • Classic Cleese

  • XD he fell out of his chair!

  • DID HE?

  • Apple is still the same, lol.

  • ooh, a little stab at Apple and its target market, I'd say...

  • lol you're right.

  • of the mid 80's?

  • Hot piece of technology right there...

  • John, how could you...

  • Way back in the day when Mac first came out, it probably wasn't compatible with very much and wasn't easy to upgrade (relatively speaking). Obviously they corrected this on some level later on.

  • "Obviously they corrected this on some level later on."

    ...sarcasm, right?

    Seriously, though, c'mon. Sarcasm? Please?

  • John Cleese does a better American accent than Eric Idle, who's done American characters himself. Clever.

  • LOL. You fail.

  • "Who needs to be RIGHT all the time?" :D

  • Just: Thank you for Posting!

  • I love it!

  • thx for the upload
