  • And it was definitely in a rough part of town, the Dingle. Margaret was in true scouse form: very real personality, finely honed cynicism, and wit/charm. Quite enjoyed meeting her and many other fine Liverpuddlians on our short visit, Found them to be a breath of fresh air after also meeting several Londoners. Stephe Frye has commented that my beloved home town, Seattle, has a lot in common with Liverpool, and I'd have to agree.

  • I was with my family visting Liverpool in April 2005, and our outstanding tour guide Jackie stopped by Margaret's house to see if she was home. It was middle of the week, in the afternoon, very quiet. Margaret had just returned from the shops, very graciously invited the four of us (plus Jackie) in for a chat. My daughters were aged 7 and 9 at the time, and she offered them each a bag of crisps and made us feel right at home. An unforgettable visit that my 14 and 16 y.o. girls fond memories.

  • Wasn't Rings from the crappy part of town?

    Back then it was maybe.

  • The Rutles would never diss the Pool!

  • I had the great pleasure of meeting Margaret at her home in 2007. She writes to me at Christmas. David Bedford took me to meet her.

  • I went on a tour and i was told this also.. ive visited the home where he was born and its a run down dump and most of the houses are boarded up. his father had an affair with a women who lived over the road.. no wonder he doesnt want to go there.

  • To Mechanical valve, Margaret doesnt charge a penny for people to go inside her house, she does it for Beatle fans and is very very proud of her home, and she is only being truthful about Ringo. Whoever posted this video did it without Margarets knowledge and she is very upset about being on you tube. Shame on you for duping a very kind lady.

  • Damn old hag

  • @Turbohog - Would you like it if someone said the same about your mother? Margaret is kind, but is upset, like many of us in Liverpool because of Ringo's comments.

  • @Jacaranda9 Perhaps your right. Although, she definitely over-reacted, just as I did. Liverpool is just a place and Ringo didn't grow up in the nice part of Liverpool so it's no wonder he doesn't miss it.

  • My name's Margaret. I go by Maggie to not like an old woman. Example A.

  • i went there too..and margaret..that old buzzrd..well i was wearing me tight trousers that day..ya know..the ones that show off my ample bulges..me package..and the whole time i'm talkin to her..she staring at my package..i couldnt believe it..i mean she was born before they invented electricity but shes still eyeballing my bait and tackle...

funny thing is..if i had a few scotches i'd probably would have done her...i have boned old slags before...they smell like embalming fluid down there.

  • I HAVE BEEN THERE AND MET HER!!! :D BANG TIDY LMAO

  • I HAVE BEEN THERE AND MET HER!!! :D BANG TIDY LMAO

  • who is the old person ???

  • this must be a old womans dream getting to talk all day to strangers

  • It doesn't look big enough to swing a cat in there!

  • this is interesting last time i went to Liverpool there were no service going to this house. I joined the Magical Mystery Tour, it only just passed the road and that's it.

Is there any reservation call to enter this old house of Ringo? any admission fee? thanks :)

  • What an old bat. Weird how she maintains this shrine to Ringo (and makes money off it), but badmouths him to his fans. Ringo had a very tough, hardscrabble life as a boy. He left almost 50 years ago for a life of fame and wealth, and doesn't owe Liverpool anything. Who can blame him if he doesn't feel much for the place now? Don't get me wrong, I've been to Liverpool and I look forward to a return trip. If Ringo feels no sentiment for the place, he shouldn't be criticized for it.

  • She's a Beatles fan and doesn't just have Ringo's portrait on her wall - all the Bearles are displayed! She charges not a penny. Sentiment? I know few people who dislike their upbringing community and area

  • Well she certainly tells it as it is.... speaks her mnind which is a definitive mark of people from the North of England. I hope she declares her 'bucket' contirbution money to the DSS or the taxman (Mr. Wilson......) Without genuine, encouraging people like her, some of these places like Ringos former house wouldn't exist anymore.

Not like the grumpies that currently own George Harrison's house.....

  • @blackpoolrok - she doesnt declare her money to the Taxman because she refuses to accept any.If people wish to make a donation, theny do it to the Linda McCartney Centre. Margaret has raised almost £7,000 so far for the charity.

  • Fuck off you yanks. Go and look at Elvis' house or something. I'm from Liverpool, and love the beatles alot, but Ringo's attitude towards Liverpool and what he said was appauling, he's from Dingle aswell should know better, Well said Margret for sticking up for the city.

  • @Bliz275 well said lad at least paul speaks highly of liverpool

  • I have Allan Williams (first manager of the Beatles) saying much the same think about Ringo. Anyone interested in hearing it?

  • @soundation I call BS.

  • Nice one Margie! A True Scouser - says what she really thinks! No false sentiments, just tell it how it is girl! :)Excellent!!!

YES, all the local Liverpulians feel the same way about Ringo - he won't set foot here ever again!

  • wow ...what a nasty old douche bag

  • My gosh! I would loooove to talk to her about Ringo! Hey...I live in a pretty small condo that looks like that on the outside!

  • Who wants all those pics of Ringo in their house? I would draw moustaches on all of them!

  • Margaret never charges for her tour. She has a tiny home by US Standards so it gets crowded fast. Yes, she was a bit angry with Ringo. She used to be his neighbor for many of his formative years and I think feels hurt that he has forgotten where he came from and the people who supported him in his early years. She has a right to her opinion and I still think that Liverpudlians are some of the nicest people in Britain!

  • Margaret, you are a wonderful lady. Thanks for the tea back in August....

  • wonderful woman! cashing in , would she be showing these rich americans for free! dont think so

  • @MeatloafTribute1 She does show them for free!!!

  • "Kind?" My arse! She's talking loads of malice for poor Ringo because he said something they didnt like. He said also himself that he never meant it like people took it. And see for yourself how these folks are beyond bitter. Also that he's too American? OMG It seems that lady is offended at that. Hypocritical if your selling tour tickets and hanging Ringo pictures on the wall. Im disgusted at her behavior. Hmmmm maybe Ringo has a point....

  • yea , didn't ringo recently " sign off " from his fan base ?

  • It seems that Ringo forgot where he came from.

  • margaret is such a kind person

  • Lmao....harsh words by Margaret there.
