i saw these guys back in the way back in new hampshire.......it was an outdoor concert at a country club in jefferson. can't remember the name of the place, it began with wau..?..it was a golf course too.
Heard this song for the first time today on 95.7 charlotte nc station while driving a work truck down a country road. Thought it was Marshal Tucker..oops! I'm not from around here. Great song!
its great i was 16 when this came out i still love this band...so maney memories of cape cod...friends..stillfriends today....the 70's were the best..the music is still the greatest....thanksfor thevideo
I still have the LPs. I wish I had caught them live back then. Marshal Tucker and Pure Prairie League, St Pete, 1997 live. Those were the days, young and enjoying life. How come we have to get old.
YES..all of those bands were in my record collection too! Just went to see Jon Pousette-Dart and the boys two weeks ago in Pawtucket, RI at the Stone Soup Coffee House. They opened the show with "Fall On Me" and I thought "Damn, I forgot they did this"... that happened three or four more times before I realized how much I used to love these guys. I saw them with Pure Prairie League in 1977 or 78 at Wheaton College in Norton, MA. They now tour as a four piece and are still great live!
OMG... I forgot how much I LOVED these guys in college !!! Love to listen to them Poco, Pure Prairie League . Do any of you remember Aztec Two Step ???
I was living up in New Hampshire when this song came out and the band was interviewed on a local station. The principal musician of this group really ripped into the Eagles' "Take it Easy" which came out about the same time. I went to see them in Concord and it was one of the worst concerts I've ever been to, with an early version of TSA gropes at the door.
Needless to say these one hit wonders pale in comparison, just a footnote in history comparatively speaking.
@nolocontendere I wouldn't blame the band for the behavior of the bouncers.
Amnesia came out in 1977. The Eagles had been around since 1971 and had already sold 10's of millions of records by then. I doubt anyone in the Pousette Dart band was predicting that they would outdo the Eagles.
I still think that Amnesia was/is a great song and I saw the Pousette Dart band in concert with Pure Prairie League ("Amie")_back then. I thought it was a great night.
wow this takes me back to st. louis and listening to the old kshe95 radio, before they became just another commercial station. i just heard this on deep tracks on xm for the first time in ages!
I saw them in November *(?) maybe late october, in 1978 at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium, Lowell, Ma. The backed up Jonathan Edwards who was himslef a last second replacement for Al Stewart! The Dart were Hot ! was anybody there??
i got introduced to these guys by a Guy who swore he had a "POT BUG" in his bag of weed. He figured if the bug is living in the bag he must be good too smoke too! So he Smoked it! lol! Ahhh, the '70s!
Pousette Dart Band takes me back to some really good times. College--and we are enjoying sunny Friday afternoons on the veranda with great friends and cold beer. My favorite of theirs is "County Line".
a lot of people don't know that john pousette's father is a significan American artist whose work is in international galleries such as the museum of modern art.
My dad always tells me stories about seeing these guys opening for Yes and Peter Frampton in Philly at JFK Stadium. They don't really sound like anything special. Like a poor man's Eagles.
The Jon Pousette Dart Band was the first live concert I had ever seen, it was 1976!
I was 14, 15 years later I ran into thier prior drummer and he wanted to know if I would join in a band with him (I was not that good) always loved this song and "When Things Go Wrong" which was covered by Robin Lane & The Chartbusters, I liked her version as well!
@Mytoob69 Robing Lane didn't cover the song. She wrote it. We covered it. We, or I, actually, changed a few words in the chorus to please the producer. It became the title cut on our album. And yes, her version is very good. Best, John Troy
Okay if anybody can help me on this one please do, from 0:00 to 0:03 sounds similar to a 60s rock n roll kinda song i heard the other day except the guitar goes low high low at the end during the hook. Idk if that helps anybody or myself but let me know if you do please.
I used to get a kick (back in the day) of playing this and asking my Buddy's who it was. Damn, lol, I'd hear Marshall Tucker, Rossington/Collins and even Tayna Tucker! Ok...j/k on that one.
Anyway, great tune. I did get a band to play it up here in Maine. Keep rolling!
Great memories from college in the mid-70s. Happen to see them play at BC during the BC Relays in 1976 I think. Nice music to stretch out to before my race!!
I first saw them perform this song at the Wobbly Barn @ Kilington, Vt 1976.
