@pmqgss I think it would have lost a lot of believability by using the original version. I think Dakota sounds pretty good, she definitely had the right energy and attitude. Also, the production value of the Runaways' albums was crap. The original recording of Cherry Bomb would have been ridiculously out of place in a performance in the film. Don't get me wrong, I love The Runaways, but Kim Fowley didn't give a shit about production or how they sounded.

The actresses didn't do bad, but I didn't like the way they directed the performance. Cherie was sensual on stage, but was also very tough while singing. Overall, the runaways were tougher than what they made them look here. It wasn't only about their sensuality:(
