One problem with the is ad: The CLS costs about three times as much. The Benz drivers who get these usually have the money to run them. Still, I would have one of these over the other 4-door coupes anyday of the week, except the CLS.

@1bentley4ever In one of motoring magazines they've put the CLS and the CC against each other - with the CC topped up with extras to reach the level of the CLS. Still, it was cheaper for the same amount of luxury and gadgets, and for any normal situation at least equally good. You pay the premium for the badge - I'd have the CC...

it's a commercial, geez. they use their artistic license to craft whatever message they want. it's silly, of course as nowdays, using a oil extraction pump is relatively cheap, quick, no muss/fuss and makes it extremely easy for any owner to perform an oil change....and!..... you do not lose down time of your vehicle, you don't end up with missing change from your ashtray or ipods from your glovebox. (tongue firmly planted, natch)

The Mercedes comparison is just demonstrating the fact that only because your German car is not an expensive Benz, the quality can still be on Benz level, be it funny or not. Also the bug voice is in German accent. They are not putting emphasis on what he says, but on how he says it.(GERMAN, as in Mercedes). Bus is a bit random, it's just to get some positive memories in connection to VW and that they are extremely reliable. Humour is a very personal thing, yet they bring across their statement.

I had a few people email me asking about the house.

The house they used for the VW family's house was the Eichler house I grew up in in Orange, California - OAKWOOD STREET - just off Fairhaven & Esplanade (a GREAT neighborhood to grow up in!!).

Eichler homes are the COOLEST! Ours was 3/4 glass+

You do realize there are markets OUTSIDE the United States. Volkswagen Automotive Group is number 3 in the world in auto sales and is projected to surpass General Motors sometime this year to be the #2 automaker in the world. Meanwhile Volkswagen Automotive Group is still earning a profit which cannot be said of #1 Toyota or #2 GM. I suggest you do your research before posting.
