  • I know very well that way because I live nearby.

and I can assure you that many people are off the road .. but few have been found. Lake Garda is unforgiving. if you finish inside and very unlikely that you rediscover! but it's still a beautiful place to visit :0)

  • Mr Pond, i presume?

  • £170,000 car, not £120,000

  • why couldnt they crash like a toyota prius or something

  • Aston Martin supplied the cars...lots of them....they had I think 5 or 6 identical cars on location, in the grand scheme the cars are an advertising tool for Aston Martin and a free prop for the film company, smashing one up means nothing and no car in this world equates to the value of a human life, one more car wreck in a Bond film is irrelevant, thankfully the driver made a recovery. The press turned it into a story about the Bond film losing their only car in the lake... not true.

  • u know he almost drowned and die

  • Mhmm... Shall we start the biding at 2 dollars?

  • platsch hihihih

  • I hope the stunt driver was fired thats a $300,000 car for fuck sake no wonder the DBS was only in the very beginning of the movie. They ran outta Aston's XD

  • @Tunerboy8732 Thats the wrong attitude, the stunt guy almost died. Its not easy to do that stuff, and crashing is a real risk no matter how good you are. $300,000 car with a movie budget of what , HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK THE STUNT GUY MADE!!!!!

Who the hell cares about the car, great action scene, cool stunt , GLAD THE DRIVER WAS OK...... nothing more to say.

  • is hurt when fan see this...

  • why?!

    WHY?!

WHY THEY PICK AN ASTON MARTIN DBS TO CRASH WITH?!

take thats stunt drivers drivers license!

someone like him may not drive a car!

    especially not an aston martin!

  • Read the description..

  • did the stig (ben collins) crash it?

  • watching this hurt more than that crash ever would

  • My bad.

  • Driving at *** km/h?? I think illegal speed...

  • who cares if its "illegal speed" lol

  • then what do they use in the film ? did they like bought a one ?

  • Aston lent them twelve.

  • holy ****

  • he uses a Astin Martin DBS. same one as in Casino Royale.

  • this made me cry

  • well at least the wheels are in decent shape

  • XD I was in Garda in june 2008. That's good! The music is good for this video XD

  • they could use that car during the movie!!! extra anyone?

  • and then the outcome of this? = WE SEE LESS OF THE DBS. =(

  • yeah, but apparently it wasn't written into the script that much anyway. after all, in the film he's moving around that much that MI6 couldn't deliver one to him even if they wanted to - and he's not exactly in their good books so why would they, lol.

  • ill bet Q is not going to like that,

  • You know what they say... sh.. happens !

  • you're right delivery driver, but i didn't say stunt driver, just driver. and yeah, there were 2 stunt drivers injured. this movie's really taking it's toll on the cast and crew, even bond himself (craig) had to have several operations after finding misfortune in some of the stunts.

  • yeh buts it worth it :} the movie came out brill

  • please note. the driver was not injured in the accident. short of a bump on the head the driver was completely fine after they removed him from the lake.

however, after sustaining injuries from informing the producer of the incident, he remains in hospital. doctors say he will make a full recovery, provided noone tells the producer.

  • Flying - I may have misread but I'm sure I read it wasnt a "stunt" driver who was injured - it was a delivery driver taking the car to the set. Two stunt drivers were hurt during two separate car chases. I may be wrong though.

  • but then, the 007 franchise does prefer to do it for real.

  • ohh noo!!!

  • James Bond :whoops a daisy sorry Q

    Q:Reilly double 007 D ho

  • poor aston

  • WHHHYYYYYY????!!!!!

  • Its a movie, theve runied like 50 Audi R8 TDI, thats almost a 130.000 car. On the iron man movie, and after that they finally reliezed it was built to not flip over or the roof cant be riped open, even by the claws of life. Dumbasses runied a shit load of them.

  • Whoops, sorry Q ;)

  • im sure he just "lost control" cause of the rain... its an aston martin; it doesnt just loose control, even in the rain. he was probably ripping in it!

  • Lol

  • How the hell he survived this! Driver had to be an ex-Mi6 (SIS).. or a superman

  • thats really depressing

  • come cazzo si fa ad uscire da quella strada a meno che non uno non si incosciente??

  • i can't watch this anymore that poor car :(

  • You only live once Mr.Bond.

  • what a waist of a good car.

  • yes you're right something like batman.. crashed his lamboghini..

  • As sick as this may sound, I hope the special edition DVD has some detailed footage.

  • Thats heartbreaking....

    what a car...

  • Shame that Daniel Craig didn't drive the car. It wouldn't fail into the lake.

  • You're wrong, sir. Daniel Craig is the best Bond yet. No need to insult each other, everyone has his taste.

  • I do like the new atmosphere of bond movies, kinda shows how men have to be.

  • Where was Q in Casino Royale? Where were the gadgeds? I missed that thing :l

  • Well the main reason I think it is, because the actor who played Q died, or it might be that the director thought it would be more serious with out gadgets.

  • wow man the fact that someone could survive that stuff might be the next james bond

ps why did they not have o roll cage on it?

  • damn, thats so sad for those guys:S working on a big movie and then crashing and injuring yourself and its al over the news.. probably thougt "well im driving bonds car, this will probably be a submarine" ;) hope they'l be ok

  • Another stuntman is seriously ill in hospital after crashing a car on the set of the new James Bond film, Quantum of Solace.

Aris Comninos crashed the Alfa Romeo whilst driving on a notoriously winding road near Lake Garda in northern Italy.

  • 1) You are right...

And that alfa romeo is now parked in the car depot near my house...

I took some photos of the Alfa with still the dummies inside...

    2) It's a lovely winding road ("Gardesana")just near the lake. It's a pleasure to drive there.

  • The Gardesana occidentale is a nice road for the breathtaking view but is also extremely dangerous because of all those dark tunnells. I live in London, but I'm originally from Sirmione :-)

  • it's all about promotion, guys ;)

  • 1) No it is not... expecially the stuntman of the alfa romeo (Evangelos Grecos). He was transported by helicopter to the ospital of Verona. There he was operated for a bad head injury. His conditions now are really bad (25th april)

    2) The driver of the aston martin did not deawn because he was luckily able to crash the window and exit the car befor it sinked. Than he gained a high fine for speed exceeding lol... (minor injuries for him)

PS: i'm sorry for my english... ;)

  • yea course they just thought they'd crash an aston martin, nearly kill the driver and lose around £250 000, then stage another crash putting a stunt man in a critical condition. wasting thousands of pounds in the process. yea just to promote the film what an ingenious plan wish i'd of thought of that one. wtf wot a rediculous thing to say like they need to promote a Bond film anyway and i'm sure they would do all this just to promote it... fuckin hell!

  • still, they better could have given it to me..

instead of crashing it into a ** lake.

  • the wheels still look nice :)

  • Do you think this was a normal accident or did they do it on purpose to get more attention for the new movie?

  • hmm good question

  • it's all about promotion, guy;)

  • I live right there... nothing was set on purpose...

Those stuntman are really injured and the one of the alfa is really badly injured...

    I hope he will recover...

  • Who cares about the car... Is the driver ok?

  • As it says in the more info over there >>> Producers say the driver of the Aston Martin was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

    ;o)

  • I was at Lake Garda!! At the same time!!

Its a pretty place!! With the mountains all around the lake!!

    -Ali

  • oops indeed ...

  • The car was the only one of its kind available for the film, and it's unknown how producers will replace it.

  • They have so much money, and are so famous (007) that i will be not surprise if Aston Martin makes a new car for them. Or they can simple built a fake car, like they did in "Gone In 60 Seconds".

  • Or somehow destroy the aston in the movie, maybe crash it in a lake then get bond a new car for the rest of the movie!

  • when Goldfinger was made, Aston martin were reluctant to give them any, and as a result the producers had to buy 2 DB5s, one of which they chopped up and put all the gadgets in, the other was used for regular filming and promo shots. after the popularity, car companies, such as BMW, Aston and Lotus have been giving them prototype cars because the advertisement is just so valuable when the car has been in a 007 movie. Wrecking them is no longer a problem for producers, lol
