and I can assure you that many people are off the road .. but few have been found. Lake Garda is unforgiving. if you finish inside and very unlikely that you rediscover! but it's still a beautiful place to visit :0)
Aston Martin supplied the cars...lots of them....they had I think 5 or 6 identical cars on location, in the grand scheme the cars are an advertising tool for Aston Martin and a free prop for the film company, smashing one up means nothing and no car in this world equates to the value of a human life, one more car wreck in a Bond film is irrelevant, thankfully the driver made a recovery. The press turned it into a story about the Bond film losing their only car in the lake... not true.
I hope the stunt driver was fired thats a $300,000 car for fuck sake no wonder the DBS was only in the very beginning of the movie. They ran outta Aston's XD
@Tunerboy8732 Thats the wrong attitude, the stunt guy almost died. Its not easy to do that stuff, and crashing is a real risk no matter how good you are. $300,000 car with a movie budget of what , HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK THE STUNT GUY MADE!!!!!
Who the hell cares about the car, great action scene, cool stunt , GLAD THE DRIVER WAS OK...... nothing more to say.
yeah, but apparently it wasn't written into the script that much anyway. after all, in the film he's moving around that much that MI6 couldn't deliver one to him even if they wanted to - and he's not exactly in their good books so why would they, lol.
you're right delivery driver, but i didn't say stunt driver, just driver. and yeah, there were 2 stunt drivers injured. this movie's really taking it's toll on the cast and crew, even bond himself (craig) had to have several operations after finding misfortune in some of the stunts.
please note. the driver was not injured in the accident. short of a bump on the head the driver was completely fine after they removed him from the lake.
however, after sustaining injuries from informing the producer of the incident, he remains in hospital. doctors say he will make a full recovery, provided noone tells the producer.
Flying - I may have misread but I'm sure I read it wasnt a "stunt" driver who was injured - it was a delivery driver taking the car to the set. Two stunt drivers were hurt during two separate car chases. I may be wrong though.
Its a movie, theve runied like 50 Audi R8 TDI, thats almost a 130.000 car. On the iron man movie, and after that they finally reliezed it was built to not flip over or the roof cant be riped open, even by the claws of life. Dumbasses runied a shit load of them.
im sure he just "lost control" cause of the rain... its an aston martin; it doesnt just loose control, even in the rain. he was probably ripping in it!
Well the main reason I think it is, because the actor who played Q died, or it might be that the director thought it would be more serious with out gadgets.
damn, thats so sad for those guys:S working on a big movie and then crashing and injuring yourself and its al over the news.. probably thougt "well im driving bonds car, this will probably be a submarine" ;) hope they'l be ok
The Gardesana occidentale is a nice road for the breathtaking view but is also extremely dangerous because of all those dark tunnells. I live in London, but I'm originally from Sirmione :-)
1) No it is not... expecially the stuntman of the alfa romeo (Evangelos Grecos). He was transported by helicopter to the ospital of Verona. There he was operated for a bad head injury. His conditions now are really bad (25th april)
2) The driver of the aston martin did not deawn because he was luckily able to crash the window and exit the car befor it sinked. Than he gained a high fine for speed exceeding lol... (minor injuries for him)
yea course they just thought they'd crash an aston martin, nearly kill the driver and lose around £250 000, then stage another crash putting a stunt man in a critical condition. wasting thousands of pounds in the process. yea just to promote the film what an ingenious plan wish i'd of thought of that one. wtf wot a rediculous thing to say like they need to promote a Bond film anyway and i'm sure they would do all this just to promote it... fuckin hell!
They have so much money, and are so famous (007) that i will be not surprise if Aston Martin makes a new car for them. Or they can simple built a fake car, like they did in "Gone In 60 Seconds".
when Goldfinger was made, Aston martin were reluctant to give them any, and as a result the producers had to buy 2 DB5s, one of which they chopped up and put all the gadgets in, the other was used for regular filming and promo shots. after the popularity, car companies, such as BMW, Aston and Lotus have been giving them prototype cars because the advertisement is just so valuable when the car has been in a 007 movie. Wrecking them is no longer a problem for producers, lol
I know very well that way because I live nearby.
and I can assure you that many people are off the road .. but few have been found. Lake Garda is unforgiving. if you finish inside and very unlikely that you rediscover! but it's still a beautiful place to visit :0)

Another stuntman is seriously ill in hospital after crashing a car on the set of the new James Bond film, Quantum of Solace.
Aris Comninos crashed the Alfa Romeo whilst driving on a notoriously winding road near Lake Garda in northern Italy.
D0cDick 3 years ago
1) You are right...
And that alfa romeo is now parked in the car depot near my house...
I took some photos of the Alfa with still the dummies inside...
2) It's a lovely winding road ("Gardesana")just near the lake. It's a pleasure to drive there.
