It was Pakistani ISI which created the Taliban... Don't mix up groups.
It was Osama who created Al Queda and was supported by Taiban, who in turn were supported to the hilt by ISI/PA.
So, the whole evil nexus was and is known to the World...lets not indulge in falsehood.

Once USSR withdrew from Afghanistan, US interest in it was minimal. They wanted to see the Najib Govt. out, which lasted for 2 years. Now, the umbrella group took power & Prof. Rabbani was the President. Masood was Defence Minister.
This was not acceptable to ISI/PA, they created Taliban who fought with the umbreall Jihadi Govt. & over threw them with the help of PA/ISI. Then Northern Alliance was formed, supported by India, Russia & Iran. CIA still had min. interest.
