I've listened to this song for 15 years, on and off, when times are bad, when things are low, brings a tear to my eyes more often than not... as someone else said.. "helps bleed the poison out through tears". Amazing band.
@TheLongTimeObserver Amen Brother... this is on my repetoire of songs I just have to grab my guitar and play along to whenever the highs are too high, and the lows are too low... sort of helps to mellow out that nasty old sine wave. Be well...
WHen I first heard the rest of Kerosene Hat I was like "WTF is this country type crap?!?!?!"...being I was buying it for LOW.As I continued playing and "listening" to it.LOW is now my least favorite song on the CD,Actually,"Get off this" is...LMAO! btw...Will someone fetch my flask? I'm going to need a steady hand...One of my favorite all time CD's along side the Clash; London Calling
@generationx1966 A-freakin'-men. I never wanted to admit that myself, but now that you're out in the open about it, I will be, too. "Lonesome Johnny Blues" became the second reason to listen to more than "Low", then, soon enough, I was wearing my cassette out. Late summer of '93. Funny thing too, I was working in a drug rehab. Great memories.
they are touring w/ the Reverend Horton Heat currently. Were in Dallas last night. Now that I'm watching a few of the videos I REALLY wish I'd gone.....
simply one of the best songs ever written.

I suffered severe depression and anxiety. Fought it all my life. Never gave up. But sometimes this song helps bleed the poison out through tears.

Still touring--hardest working band in rock and roll.
Touring with Camper Van Beethoven right now...and that's a show you WANT to see.
