All good stuff- we have 9/11 type events here in Houston all the time- it doesn't mean a total upevil- just to be prepared for anything that disrupts your everyday life.
Of course, it will be all about working together with your family and loving your neighbors, relying on each other and spending lots of time and energy into acquiring food water, and other stuff that is necessary for everyday living. However, this thing will hit us hard and suddenly, most people that are asleep are not even aware of its existence. Security will become one of the main concerns that people will have.
About security, u should defiantly have strong protection. U can't say u don't need to worry about security, and there is going to be lots of people who will worry about where they should get some food or money from in 1 sentence. I have to say that u r not familiar with American society. It's different in country where u live, but in the U.S. there will be lots of looters and worse........ organized gangs who will come in many especially in cities. That's what our history teaches us - Katrina.
I disagree with quite a few points in this video. First, I disagree with the soviet union collapse example. When SU collapsed the economies of all the countries that were part of it didn't "collapse" but more like "changed" instead. What happened to them in no ways can be compared to what is coming to the western economies. They went through changes, we are going to go through major collapse and depression. Trust me those are two different things, it's going to be very different.
wow, you lost me at your very first point.... "I could kick Henry Kissinger's ass".....
well no shit! so could I. no one expects Kissinger himself to come crashing through their window.
I think there's a DAMN good reason to be TERRIFIED! it doesn't make you a pussy to be scared. SHTF isn't a dick-swinging contest. fear might actually do you some good in a worst case scenario.
@nolaOE800 Irrational fear is the biggest danger anyone can face because it makes them do stupid things.
Like thinking that a bug out bag will sustain them, like running around shooting at anything that moves and spending thousands of hours fretting over an invisible government at the detriment of ignoring their own family.
Also that 'point' was a stab at alittle humour....try it sometime its good for the heart and the head.
My 5 cents on fear. Fear is inevitable necessity that each individual must have it. It controls and helps to human behavior on the way that protects him against nature. In other words fear helps as long as you can control it. On some other things it is ridiculous to have a fear against anything "IF" you can't control it since it will block your adequate and successful response in attempt to succeed in your attempt to keep you well being intact.
@nedeljkomostar Indeed,i take it that you are talking about the 'fight or flight' defence mechanism.
Fear is a good thing when faced by say a snarling grizzly bear but is irrational and destructive when it is fear of something that you have never seen or exerienced yet.
Its like building yourself up into a panic before a dentist visit to find out that you do not need a tooth pulling, just a polish.
Remember, gardens also change year to year based on the climate. One year a bumper crop of tomatoes..next year..nada. Best to diversify and always try an assortment.
Great Post. I look to history as well, but it seems lost when I point to even videos showing recent collapses. There is this "hollywood" (The Road or The Book of Eli recently) and the video game prepping religion.
@Yankeeprepper Yp there is way too much Hollywood and call of duty 4 in the prepping community and most of those types do not actually prep beyond buying a firearm and some military surplus gear, for those types it is just another fad to spend their money on when they have finished with their iphone4 or some other useless trinket.
History and reality is far more interesting than any hollyweird offering.
@elbauzan trying to do just that but it is hard when you have a family that is asleep, what can I do leave them behind? I have to just do what I can alone.
@drewstarr71 It is difficult mate when you have family members that are not onboard.
Unfortunatly your family is in for a rude awakening when this whole mess comes crashing down, hopefully you will be prepared enough to make their crash as soft as possible.
