ppl have tried in so many ways to prove his contribution in the history of the independance of bangladesh...some ppl say he was no more thn a mere fighter...but everytime they say this, they remind me that at least he had the balls to take up arms for his country n face live bullets..i feel amused when some ppl's say that Mr. Mujibor Rahman surrendered on 25th March 1971 to stop more killings...i dont see how this actually helped.can anybody pls enlightn me on the resonablness of this decision?
@ronybhai79 I am not gonna say I know what he was thinking or wat Zia was planning at that time, but if that was me I would'v surrendered. Its no good fighting with bare hands. At that time Bangladeshi army was overwhelmed by the Pakistani's. If their surrender could stop pakistani's from killing more Civilians than that was the right thing to do. And you also have to consider that the 1st attack came to dhaka. And I am not sure army had stronghold of Dhaka at that time. Thus surrender I believe
hats off to this dude.perfect mix of patriotism, courage and talent.he contributed to create BANGLADESH from east pakistan. zia rescued democracy from one party baksal and introduced multi party democracy.bcoz of his farsighting diplomacy, those nations who opposed our independance during 71, became strongest allies of us afterwards.

Strong Leadership, Nation building & economic stability and void of nepotism - he succeeded where Bangabandhu failed !
Zia is our "one and only" head of state who directly fought against the Pakistani army in 1971. And his success must be praised by ALL.
