I will say this, the guys are great musicians. But the fact of the matter is, is that LP as much as it bothers me to admit has been a band that followed the music trend curve. No doubt they make good music but the edge is gone. Same goes for MCR and 30STM. With that said I leave with one final thought: Go listen to August Burns Red.

You guys are crazy, this is OLD LINKIN PARK, and thats when they were great. This entire LP underground CD is old LP, the instrumentals are the best, the couple real songs are old LP DEMOS, this isnt new creating rules, or generes or ahead of there time, this is when LP was great. Now there just OK, and I have loved them since there name was HYBRID THEORY. A LONG FREAKING TIME. I have wanted them to go back to this numetal genre for awhile now, but have accepted that they have evolved

These songs makes me respect LP so much more for getting OUT of the Nu Metal genre. The difference is, sure, you might not like their stuff . . . if you're one of those people, but at least its refreshing and not redundant. This kind of song was a dime a dozen back in early to mid 2000s. The music LP makes now--nobody but Linkin Park makes that kind of music. Linkin Park isn't about being in a specific genre, they're about being ahead of the game. Which they are right now.

@JCStreetSoldier You know, LP were in a creative cage during HT, their songs felt the same. Later Meteora came, LP were "still caged" unless "Faint" or "Breaking the Habit" tells you. "What I've Done" broke the cage for them, as MTM told the world about LP's capacity to break the molds. ATS further paved their creative way as they escaped their emotional-rap-sing cliché and talked about war and such. They can even go further, as they did with JayZ, they can go along with Miley Cyrus, even.

I've kind of grown tired of Hybrid Theory singles and Meteora singles, ATS is more complex. Better doesn't always mean relaying on the distorted guitar for every song.
