I had one of these for christmas, i loved it! i remember it used to ask me to spell yacht, it prenouced it yagchtt, always got it wrong even when i used the repeat key! Must of cost my parents a bomb in those days, it was an expensive toy.

I you insert one of the word modules for the US model Speak and Spell, will this unit speak with an american accent? It's interesting to note that here in Australia we had the US version of Speak and Spell, and not the UK version.

Nifty, its one of the "English Voice" speak and spells, sold in the UK. Those are hard to find in the US. Try pressing 'Z', it will say 'zed' on an "English voice" unit.
