The entire series was focused on character and relationship development between the siblings, and many episodes showed every sibling building on that brother-sister relationship. the fact that it's a family show is probably the biggest ringer, its not a soap opera, its a family tv show geared towards preteens and young children, where things like repressed love for your stebsiblings doesnt come into play.
