  • Shit just got serious.

  • the bomberman 64 songs sound very very very similar to this ;D

  • How do you write an awesome song with a 13/8 time signature?

I don't know, but the writer of this song does.

  • @musicByJake Well a lot of people probably could, but I guess it takes a lot of imagination and experimentation to tinker with such an irregular meter : P

  • Mad Mallet! TRASH 'em!

  • BOBA FETT!

  • I miss this game... D:

  • @1000redips I know! It just makes me wanna cry. Makes me feel like I'm in a cold metal factory at night, and I am a prisoner, and there is only a single crack throught the wall of my cell, and I can feel the warm sunshine come throught, and I see a butterfly, But as I stretch out my hand to hold it, The wall seals itself and the butterfly turns to metal. Man, I'm making myself depressed just thinking about it! :(

  • @writerchick4eva wow thats deep :o

  • @Thunderv31 I know!!!! And I don't even play video games!!! HOW CAN A BUNCH OF 1s and 0s MAKE ME CRY!?!

  • @writerchick4eva they make you cry because of the sadness carried over the souless virtual components wishing to have a soul as kind and poetic as yours

allso it made me teary as well and im a guy :(

  • @Thunderv31 Awwww thank you that's so kind of you to say now I am blushing lol. I'm just getting too emotional today.

  • @writerchick4eva oh i am not ind for i only speak the truth that you have such a sweet pure heart. its alright to be emotional its what makes the world go round.

  • I Mean Culex.

  • I feel super mario RPG's Story is a bit too dark For Super Mario. But thats what makes it awesome! Especially Coolex.

  • This 13/8 time signature is fucked up... and I'm a percussionist who's used to playing stuff like alternating 5/4 and 6/4, so that's saying something.

  • @KingOfKatamari ha ha ha, hell yes. Odd time signatures are a way of life. 5/4 and 6/4 alternating, you say? Nice work, but I imagine that would become jarring as a percussionist. I swear, keeping the beat to an odd time signature is exhausting. Mess up once and the whole thing falls apart (particularly if it's an X/8 piece)

  • Nintendo>Sony>Microshit.

  • @jmario232 Even though I agree, the way you make fun of microsoft is bland and pitiable.

  • @jmario232 And what, may I ask, does that have to do with the video?

  • @writerchick4eva Well, Nintendo took part in the making of this game, so he means that due to the song in this game, is one of the reasons why Nintendo is better than Sony or Microsoft. Sorry if I made you look stupid. Seriously, no offense.

  • @ShadowKirbeh graphics are more to set the mood though, older, cartoony graphics are honestly better for RPGs but Resident Evil is a darker game so it should have more realistic graphics

  • This piece has a very dark ambiance, mechanical even. Perfectly in line with the Smithy Gang's inter-dimensional origins.

  • I wish that Square-Enix would get off Necroscope86's case lol

  • After beating the Holy Land of Noire in Arc Rise Fantasia, I realized that Noire was not as epic as Smithy's Factory. Noire was short, offered no puzzles or obsticals and had a few ripoff pathways while Smithy's Factory was enormous, had a large number of enemies and had some tricky challenges. Overall, Smithy's Factory wins.

  • I have never played this game nor am I fan of it but bringing this up anyway. Whatever happened to Chrono Trigger? They make only one or two Chrono Triggers and then they just leave Chrono Trigger to die with the rest of their non FF/KH work. For shame Square. For shame. Many fans (not me) are probably outraged by this. I wanted a sequel to Mischief Makers but that never happened. Makes me mad.

  • @jmario232 I thought i was the only guy who played, beaten and love Mischief Makers, I even created a sequel fic for it

  • Super Mario RPG 2=Paper Mario 1

There is the sequel guys or at least the closest thing we will ever get to a sequel. There is no true Super Mario RPG 2 because Square refuses to make anymore Mario games and just churns out FF and KH games like nobody's business. It is time Enix came up with some new material. Just one new game that is entirely different. A monkey wrench in the works so to speak. That is all I want right now from them.

  • 13/8...YEAH!

  • I dont care what people say i like this better than forest maze!

  • Snes > Xbox > Wii > PS3

  • @BrianCD85 Snes>N64>Wii>Xbox>PS3

  • @yalltookthegoodnames Well, Genesis did do the song "turn it on again" which is (mostly) in 13/8, and this song is entirely in that TS; funny you should mention them, I just picked up invisible touch on vinyl record a few days back.

  • Any ff6 players reminded of the Magitek Research Facility by this theme?

  • Super Mario RPG > Mario and luigi and paper mario X 20. :D

  • @IRNatman I think paper mario was always cool, the way it delved into different mario species and added characters to things we all generally overlooked, but the artwork was so piss-pan simple that it made every new creature look bland. Dimentio COULD have been cool had he not looked like a collage mixed with a south park character model, and the way nobody has texture really adds to the boringness. Now if only Square Enix and Nintendo could settle their differences...

  • @smartlamppost Paper mario had some potential. But it can't take the place of SMRPG2. SMRPG2!!!!! NOA BITCHAS!!!!!

  • @IRNatman Paper mario was supposed to be called super mario rpg 2 you twat.

  • @bladiumdragon I know, but it doesn't compare to doodly shit. Paper mario actually sucks in comparison to SMRPG. :D

  • @IRNatman True.True.

  • Does anyone know where I can find the music that plays in the area where you fight the Clerk, Manager, and all of those characters? I can't find it anywhere.

  • OMG ITS KIRBY or METAKNIGHT

  • @Dassassafras From what I've heard it was actually going to be a DIRECT sequel (with returning characters and locales) but around the time production began Square jumped ship to the PSX, which left Nintendo to finish the game on their own, hence the very strong similarities in themes/locations. Keep in mind this is just a rumor I heard, but it does make sense given the game Paper Mario became.

  • 3 people had the factory built on their backs.

  • magitek!

  • @brynefan1 No, all of the weapons are living weapons. That's why it has eyes.

  • 3 people are tired of these types of comments.

  • @unheardofNOISE the original Paper Mario is great. The one for the Gamecube however, is phenomenal.

  • @JonnyJinx04 Sooooo true. Good to find someone else who agrees that TTYD takes the cake.

  • Epic stage with epic music.

  • @MegaUrbanExplorer

Only because the SNES has some of the best Nintendo games ever made. A console is only as good as the games available for it.

  • This track always heavily reminded me of the magitech factory theme in Final Fantasy 6.

  • This song should play in every factory as people slave away with their work.

  • This game when looked at and compared to Paper Mario you can see similarities.

    1. Bowser is fought as a boss at the game's beginning.

    2. Star Hill/Shooting Star Summit is the closest place to the Star Road/Star Haven

    3. Twink could be comparable to Geno's true form as a star.

    4. Both games involve wishes not being granted due to an evil villain attacking Star Road/ Star Haven.

    5. Bowser's Castle is taken over in this much like Peach's Castle in Paper Mario.

    6. Both games have dojos

  • @1000redips

    Remind me...

    castle bleck..where was that?

  • @sinorsaint Ok, you were talking to me but it's Super Paper mario.;)

  • @Boywhoflies

    Ahh right right.

Kinda forgot how the castle was like, haven't played it in so long.

I didn't like the game though, i prefered the the old paper mario's.

Shame, it had a good story.

  • @sinorsaint Yeah, the old Paper Mario's were awesome. I was so adicted I beat ttyd 5 tipes. :p

  • We work at factory

    We don't care about people.

    we care about weapon instusy.

  • the guitar puts a nice touch to the music.and it sounds latin and mario is italian.get the connection.if you dont reply i like anwsering peaples questions :)

  • this could have been the final battle theme

  • Smithy's factory scared the living crap out of me just seeing most of the bosses that you were up against before was just annoying even when i saw the axem rangers i was like WTF didn't i lose to you bastards about 42 times before i actually managed to win now i have to verse you again crap but still this game is AWESOME i downloaded it for the Wii!!!!

  • Manager's axe looks like a smaller version of Blade.

  • Look at the axe...

    Soul Edge!!!

  • Omg, the more I think about it, the angrier I get that square walked off with rights to Geno and Mallow... fuck, now we're NEVER going to get them in a Mario Kart game.

  • @GeneralCane What angers me the most is the fact that Square continues to shit on Nintendo with their poor "Crystal Chronicles" games instead of giving them a real final fantasy on a Nintendo console.

  • When I saw the re-make or Yardavich 2, I was like "I AM NOT GOING THROUGH THIS CRAP AGAIN!!!!!" But, then I figured out he wasn't as hard as last time

  • This track so dark and gloomy. It gives a chaotic feeling too. Very atmospheric track.

  • @bub777 yeah that crossover of final fantasy, dragon quest & Super Mario RPG would be a brilliant idea for future crossover video games though its unlikely the company reunion will ever happen. @ Lucario582 well the sega in 1990s are better with genesis than later sega consoles.

  • Where'd you get the pic?

  • This is when Mario crossed over to Square Soft territory.

  • Nintendo nowadays really needs to get involve with old video game companies like SquareEnix, Rare, Capcom, etc since they always make more creative video games with better music then today's rubbish junk games if Nintendo ask permission from their former and current partners besides their rivals to make Niintendo like a phoenix rising from the ashes.

  • @uchiha1521 You mean like what they did with Sega or something different?

  • @uchiha1521 I thought a "company reunion" would be a neat idea, but I think things function a lot differently today, to an extent that may not really happen.

Hopefully, the big N, together with S-E (boy could you imagine both Final Fantasy AND Dragon Quest characters in the same game?) can make a new Super Mario RPG (nothing like the Paper Mario series).

  • @bub777

What do you have against the paper mario games?

  • @NARFNra I got nothing against Paper Mario's games; Paper Mario was the first Mario-related RPG I played and completed. However, nothing much really changed outside the "flat" realm other than differences in the battle system(s), when sequels came out. Paper will always be...paper.

Super Mario RPG was all 3D, all the time. What' I'd give to see a Paper Mario game get "inflated" to bring back something that's gone missing for the past couple generations. S-E, NIntendo, reunion please!!

  • Back in my cousin's generation video games companies are way better than today's video game companies since they lost the spark from the glory years from late 1980s - late 1990s nowadays people are complaining about today's video game companies slowly ending up like Atari Inc in early 1980s. Nintendo had to reopen their classic icons in order to rewrite their legacy as the greatest video game company of all time.

  • Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars My older cousin and I beat it before and its pretty easy for me.

Its one of the most successful RPG video games in 1990s. Everything in SMRPG Legend of the Seven Stars are perfect for future Mario games especially Super Mario Galaxy 2 if the music composers are able to remix most music from older Mario games for galaxy stages like the Smithy's Galaxy.since its much gloomer, forlom or much darker than anyone ever experience.

  • Square-Enix knows how to compose the best final dungeon themes.

  • Smithy had an awesome factory with its theme! If there were a Mario RPG sequel, he would... wait, he's dead!

  • Some of the nastiest bosses are in there, such as the clock boss, and the jester duo!

  • They look like they are made of Lego's.

  • My new ringtone.

  • You know this sounds really peaceful.

  • This is the best music in the game, tied with Beware the Forest's Mushrooms.

  • This seems like a game for Nintendo 64 with the graphics and music. =/ Yes, I know it's for SNES.

  • @Ateykwa I concur, with a few exceptions.

  • @Ateykwa Yeah, but Paper Mario's graphics were... ehrm...

  • @Ateykwa I have always found SMRPG's 3d graphics better than 64, and these games were only a couple of months a part from each other

  • @Ateykwa after seeing video on youtube of the N64 i was like to myself i had that system. Only game that acutally had good graphic on the N64 was Yoshi Story and paper mario that's pretty much the others were kindda of putting now that i seeit

  • @Ateykwa but compare it to paper mario 64 simple yet sexy

  • @Ateykwa Well, full 3D had to start somewhere, bear in mind. At the time, most people were impressed enough with the idea of full 3D to not gripe about the quality of the graphics. It does look kind of goofy in retrospect, I'll admit.

  • @Ateykwa I agree with you, but SM64 certainly did look impressive for the time.

  • @Ateykwa It's because the SNES had a sort of charm on it that can't be replicated.

  • @Ateykwa i feel like the smaller scale of required illustration on the SNES graphics made more room for artful graphics, rather than some of the bland solid color environments that were sometimes what we got

  • @Ateykwa To be fair to Super Mario 64, it was the first 3D Mario game, so you can't expect it to be too pretty.

  • @WeaviletheGreat123 yeah, I actually thought to myself, "if N64 did quasi-2D games, this is what they'd look like".

  • i love this theme but its not called "The Weapon's Factory" its just "The Factory"...

  • Comment removed

  • Towelie what u saying "we", you and I will never be making a sequel to this game now will we?

  • Can anyone tell me the time signature of this piece? For some reason the number 13 keeps coming up in my head with this song.

  • IT is 13/8. Hence the number 13.

  • @theultimatekoopa2 13? Dang, Yoko Shimomura's stealing Soyo Oka's (of PilotWings and Sim City fame) thunder!

  • Epic theme! Makes you feel like your on the road to head for the final confrontation with the main antangonist! (Which of course you actually were XD)

  • i hope they dont reake this....

and it still sales for 50 bucks and up online

  • Best Track Ever.

  • this was the best mario game ever made

  • I love the minor keys used in the music! if only a sequel could have been made...

  • i love this song so much! its so awesome! my favorite in mario rpg! i remember the road to smitty! fighting those tools over and over to max my ppls lvls! oh how i miss this classic!

  • It's me 2nd fav game music!THIS ROX 100/3!!!

  • I only played this game 4 or 5 years back...Is it weird that I feel nostalgic listening to this?

  • Absolutely not... this game can drive people nostalgic ! This is a unique game.

  • oh yeah

  • This song always gave me a dark, emotional feeling, especially when I would be walking around in a dark fog over an abyss with reapers, goos, and manufactured monsters of the past lurking all around me with a cold bloodlust in their hearts.

    *shivers*

  • I agree it is a TRAVESTY that only paper mario and superstar saga came out of super mario rpg, I mean I had fun with all of them, but for paper mario and super star saga to even come CLOSE to being compared with super mario rpg? its just ABSURD!

  • That's why Nintendo and Square should team up again. With the rerelease of SMRPG and Chrono Trigger I don't think the idea is too far-fetched. Nintendo just can't make RPGs on their own (and sadly, they've lost their touch after the N64 died anyway.)

  • Trust me, If SMRPG were to ever be remade. It's legacy would go down the drain.

  • Well, maybe you're right. But how do you feel about a *true* sequel to smrpg? I don't think that could hurt the original's reputation.

  • Well the legacy the original holds would be knocked down a few notches.

We need a good and I mean GOOD storyline if we ever plan on remaking this game.

  • Maybe, but I'm glad it was rereleased on the Wii in any case. By doing that Nintendo brought it back into the limelight and made it popular with the new generation and I'm just glad that they're embracing their past rather than trying to hide it.

  • Because Square owns the game and characters, and without Nintendo's permission they can't make a new game.

  • *goes to square headquarters to ask for nintendo's permission*

  • I mean Game

  • If only they did a Remix in HD :(

  • Odds are that's because this was one of if not THE last game Square made before they made FFVII.

  • Techno-industrial terror.

  • cool song. smithy theme 1 is the best though

  • ya know, the picture kinda looks like and armos off of zelda:link to the past

  • Great song, love SMRPG.
