  • well this was fun, but this is not Polish -- especially NOT with the curry! and gravy??? Anyway it may be interesting to try as long as one realizes it is not Polish!

  • @noblumoon Thanks for commenting! We have made them without curry powder and gravy, and used tomato sauce, but every recipe can be tailored to your own personal taste.

  • pigeon! really!

  • Desecration of Polish cuisine !

  • Haha jaka porazka. Skasujcie ten film. To nie sa zadne polskie golabki, tylko jakas profanacja!!!

  • Thanks for sharing. It looks yummy.

  • @g7727 You're welcome, thanks for watching!

Anglikow taka nazwa intryguje jeszcze bardziej.

  • this is not traditional polish gołąbki... but everyone can make them as they like :)

  • @RaspberrySeason Thanks, you are right!

  • Miła Pani się starała, ale to nie są Polskie Gołąbki. Robi je się przecież inaczej!!!! no i co to był za sos???

  • K U R W A jakie kurwa curry powder w moich golabkach????????????? KURWA nie dawac tego syfu do jedzniea !!!!1 To ma byc hiduska wersja golabek lub co????????????????

  • I luv Gołąbki with tomato :D

  • @free0files Me too!

  • I realize you are English but I have never seen polish golabki made that way, especially with gravy!

  • @592Tracy Actually my wife who is making them is Polish and the sauce was actually tomato, not gravy!

  • @592Tracy I've just rewatched and you are correct, we did use gravy that time, usually it is tomato!

  • Why do you keep calling them pidgeons? I thought they were called Golabki.

  • @Feisty1967 Pigeons is a nickname some people have for them.

  • @Feisty1967 Golabki translates into "little pigeons".

  • @Feisty1967 Thats what Golabki means - pidgeons :)

  • Skomentuj ten film... You do them different to me , instead of doing them is a souce pan , we put them in a het prvove ish , and put them in the oven , this makes them a litle bit softer , both recipies work though (i am polish if you were wondering :D )

  • @Feisty1967 gołąbki is in translation pigeons

    so its just a trainslation

  • @Feisty1967 gołąbki means pigeons in POLISH.... duh! ;D i'm polish so of course I know

  • Great stuffing you showed here. Did you try those with tomato sauce?

  • @CyclopsPL Thanks! Yes, we poured passata over the top:)

  • Przepis jest świetny! Pyszne, cudne, palce lizać.

Ale mam pytanie - zrobiłem siedemnaście gołąbków, ale żaden z nich nie lata! Pomocy!

  • My mother makes these too!! She makes them with a mushroom, Brandy and cream sauce instead of gravy. Marvellous!!

  • That sounds like an awesome way to have them, thanks!:)

  • Those cabbage leaves reminded me of Sherlock Holmes. You could have caused a swarm of wasps to wake up and a long haired lover from Liverpool would have developed mouth ulcers with winged mermaids delivering rusty screws to an Egyptian banjo player. Deep joy, man!

  • Hmmm ... a weird comment but I thank you all the same:!:)

  • Got my mouth watering! Dark gravy with cabbage rolls looks different but interesting...

  • It was tasty and maked a change from tomato!:)

  • Looks delicious. A nice alternative to tomato based sauce I usually make with stuffed cabbage rolls.

  • Thanks, Arthur! Actually I would have preferred the tomato sauce but it did make a nice change!:)

  • Only just catching up - sorry. I was a bit worried at the start that you were leaving poor Nika "perched" on the kitchen surface - then I realized it was a cooking video!! And very nice it looked too!

  • Thanks, Brian! I forgot to say thanks again for the links you sent me last month, it is great experimenting with them!:)

  • I noticed you have been playing with some of the effects

  • Hello Dominika and Anthony! First of all I love the kitchen, so bright;sun comes inside good, gives energy to cook.Healthy recipy + veggies! Whats it called in polish? Delicious!

    Thank you

    Bianca

  • We are so lucky, we get sun all day in different directions! The polish word for those is Gołąbki - thanks, Bianca! Anthony and Dominika xoxo

  • Another yummy recipe by dominika.... haha... that was cool HUGS from me guys!!

    KaPo

  • Thanks KaPo, much appreciated!:)

  • That DOES look yummy.

But I was a little concerned when I saw the title. LOL

  • Yes, apparently they look like a pigeon hence the name - but I don't see it myself!:)

  • from the title I had no idea this would be a cooking video! I like the technique of making a nest for the in the pot! haha

  • Thanks, Lesley! This is kind of a response to my Toad In The Hole video (that did not contain any toads!)

  • Hi, Anthony and Dominika (Pink is my favorite color, and I just love your footwear, Dominika).Anyway, I 've been very busy with a charity I had started myself... paperwork, paperwork!!!! So, your video was just the thing I needed... Loved it. Kisses, Pat

  • Hi Pat, glad we could help in some way! I had a feeling you liked pink! Have you recorded your clip for the CDMagz Global Kisses colab yet?:)

  • Great way to make a little bit of meat go a long way! Cheers, Lesley

  • You are right, we still have the other half in the freezer! Hope you are all well!:)

  • ive tried those we used to call them cabbage rolls yummmmmmmm

  • Where were the pidgeons!!! lol

  • Trafalger Square LOL!:)

  • Hmm, kind of a variation of cabbage rolls. Looks pretty good!

  • Thanks Heather and Geraldboy, I think they are similar but the name pigeons is great!:)

  • We are glad non of Phil's favourite animals (birds/pigeons) were harmed while making this film

Best wishes from the Booth family

  • Thanks, Ellen!:))

  • Looks good, actually - Interesting cooking method with the foil in the pot - But I think the frog in the hole was more my style ;^)

  • YouTube just asked me to confirm all the content of this video was either my own or royalty free, I can confirm it was my own cabbage!:)

  • it was only disturbing to see the name of this video paired with an icon picture of a frying pan.

  • LOL! I wonder if eating pigeon is actually illegal? I am pleased to state that this was only pork (although that is also illegal in some countries, jeez!)

  • Hi cutie!

I'm so happy that you like my pigeons:) But you make better shepherds and fish pie yummy:)):PP

Poor cabbage I left it a little bit too long on the cooker...

    Kissesxxx

  • Hi sweetie! Both our countries dishes are tasty, in different ways! xxxx

  • that dish looks delicious! Looks fairly simple to make as well. I gotta try that sometime although wrapping up the mix in the cabbage leaves kinda looks complicated. :0)

  • Thanks Brian, it is a bit fiddly, I leave it to the expert!:)

  • what is really amazing is: I was working with a lady today and she is from Turkey. It was a slow day at work and we started talking about our favorite recipies to make. She said, I like making cabbage rolls, and then went to explaining to me how to make them and it was exactally what you and dominika had shown on your video. I then shared with her your perogi recipe and she wants to try it.

  • What a coincidence! I think it is great when I see anyone prepare food from ingredients. I was always taught the importance of cooking proper, balanced meals but who has the time? Just at weekends, sadly!:)

  • I do like to cook but I hate the cleanup afterwards so sadly I usually just microwave something or go out to eat.

  • This looks so attractive - but it takes a long time to prepare, doesn't it?

  • It is a bit fiddly, but worth it!:)

  • Thanks Bobby, that does sound very tasty though!:)

  • Very nice recipe...although I wonder what the vegetarian alternative would be...maybe tofu cubes for the pork. :P Hugs, Aleisha

  • Thanks Aleisha, I think tofu would be good, also do you have Quorn there or Linda McCartney mince?:)

  • I would gain a lot of weigh if I lived with you. She is such a good cook. My Grandmother use to make the same recipe. WE called them pigs in a blanket too and use a tomato base for the sauce :)

  • Thanks Becca, I have noticed a few pounds gained but I will get them off! The tomato sauce sounds a good idea!:)

  • cool!

I thought it was going to turn into a joke, but it looks rather good!

I'll have to make some later this week....basically just to see the faces when I say

    "we're having pigeons!"

    (ha!)

  • Thanks! I think they call them pigeons because of the way they look, I am glad they do not contain real pigeon!:)

  • poland crap, that is harsh seeing as we did not even get in,hope your beautifull wife to be has a super bday later this month, love and respect scotty and libby:0)

  • They didn't play too good but at least they were there! (her bday is the 23rd August!)

  • Bro and Do I just love you!! I would cook (or let somebody else cook it stuffed with tofu, bamboo and mushrooms - vegetarian version). Thank you for all your super videos and as you already know: Love you lots and lots

    CDm

    Natasha

    x

  • Thanks lil sis, I am sure a vegetarian version would work out fine! xoxo

  • i'll be round next sunday afternoon for some of that :)

  • Good, bring the wine, we have a spare room for you!:)

  • That sounds good to me...red or white? lol

  • Both!:))

  • Haha! a closet alcoholic...unlike me, im open about it.LOL!!

  • Hmmmm, you prepare this so well and so lovingly, but I am not sure this would meet my own taste preference, but who knows?

I am more of a Mediterranean and/or Italian food flavor type, hot and spicy like my personality...lol.

  • Hi Sandy, I like the idea of that but Dominika likes to stick to her traditional ways!:)

  • i made a pigeon, but it was made of pigeon, and it was roadkill, oh god, DON'T MIMIK TOP GEAR KIDS!

  • LOL! I just watched a repeat on Dave where Clarkson had the cow on top of his car!:)

  • Gimme cabbage baby! And lots of it. Anthony you did know the pigeons were kicked out of Caesars Palace? They got away with that for a long time. No more!

  • I did not know that, were they flying round the Forum shops or in the casino?:)

  • They were being served on the dinner table under a different name. Somebody protested! They were then taken off the menu. Maybe 10 years ago.

  • We call then: pigs in a blanket.

  • Thanks Moomay! xoxo

  • Oh! I love Golabki (Polish cabbage rolls). SMACZNEGO!

  • Thanks, they are soo tasty, I love all polish food now!:)

  • Never tried pigeon Anthony.... but if it tastes as good as it looks in this video I would certainly be willing to give it a go !

Scotland and England missed out on a great competition.... we were cheering on Spain. Sorry Dominika : )

    Billy.....

  • Spain were good! It was actually pork, I leave pigeon to that River Cottage chap on TV:)

  • Looks good to me.

    Amy xx

  • Thanks Amy, they were tasty!:))

  • Euro 08 was so fun to see, they even showed it in the usa. that looks pretty easy to make. i would use chicken however, don't do park.

    michael

  • Thanks Michael, it was fun to watch even though England did not make it, it took the pressure off. I think chicken would do just fine:)

  • ok. give me a plate full. 5*

  • Thanks, sending some over!:)

  • think it is similar to our kohlrouladen. breadcrumbs instead of rice and we eat them with gravy and boiled potatoes.

  • Thanks, that sounds a tasty dish!:)

  • very similar.

  • Good video although I wouldn't eat pigeon, my mother used to say they are rats with wings LOL

I hope you boiled them really good.

  • Thanks Ran, it was pork really but I agree, they are like vermin!:)

  • It was good apart from the Pigeon, I wont eat Pigeon, poor birdie. hehe

  • It was pork and rice (thankfully!)

  • hahaha put your slippers back on hehehehe Great Video Anthony. 5 stars

  • Thanks, phil!:)))
