  • what a heap of steming fucking shit, how the fuck did i get here ?

  • about 2.5 minutes too long. Vintage-Liberal Club Barton upon Humber North Lincolnshire 1984...1994...2004...and so on. The one in the black dress looks a possible

  • this is my guilty pleasure.....

  • Yeah, I would MUCH rather bang these hot chicks than Atomic Kitten any day

  • "then to my surprise he said SOD IT you can walk"

  • i will be at luton airport in in 2days

  • @Skybluesam94 Is there really a Luton airport ? I thought it was fiction ! Where is it ?

  • @1488bill Its in Luton in Bedfordshire in the UK, the home of EasyJet

  • @jrg135 Thanks for the information - My Welsh friend sent the Lorraine Chase commercial video and said it was a smash success that spawned this song - but I incorrectly assumed the place was fictitious -

  • Atomic who?

  • I agree these are better than atomic kitten anyday - the 1 in the middle at the back - phoaaarrr! - I'd do her :)

  • Brilliant love it and can't stop singing it lol

  • I had no idea I'd come home from work to find this

  • Atomic kitten , id forgotten about those Muppets. Cats U.K. ahh very much still in my mind they rock.

  • Jeeze, that song takes me back and I still like it.

  • anyone know where to find the lyrics??

  • The lead singer was Bea Rowley. The song was by Paul Curtis (he wrote lots of songs in the Song for Europe contest including A Message to your heart by Samantha Janus (Ronnie in Eastenders) and John Worsley. 2 of the 3 backing singers are Deena (Viv off Emmerdale) Payne and Pippa. Deena was also in Rock Follies in 1977, and the group had two other singels "Holiday Camp" and "16-looking for love" around the 1979/80 mark.

  • You know, there`s some of those pop tunes that you just wished were erradicated from your memory,Luton Airport kuuu weee ooo is the fookin irritating noise thats been in my head since then.Thats the last time i watch that shit.

  • I think one of them is/was in Emmerdale

  • The lead singer DOES sound like Kate Nash!

  • Do you know there is just one thing about this lot . Those three backing girls at least I cant help but think that they were also part of that dance outfit that used to be on Top Of The Pops . Do any of you remeber Legs And Co ?

  • CLASSIC!

  • Looking out of my window too! The runway lights they glisten in the snow.

    LU2

  • I remember Luton airport in the 60s when it was just a grass strip of a runway. How life has changed!!!

  • Kategorie: Müllplatz unterstes Fragment - zuschippen und nie mehr hochholen.

  • -looks out my bedroom window... Luton airport ;P

    LU2 :D

  • Jesus I remember watching this.

The TOTP performance stuck with me but I couldn't remember the name of the band.

  • Lorraine Chase was INSANE to turn down this classic

  • @chris276100 no she wasn`t

  • @peaceman1234567 thats odd

  • fuckin amazin bit of music.

  • Nice 1970's chicks.

  • Comment removed

  • Not even funny.

  • They did 'On My Knees' and 'Numba 1 (Tide is High)' with Kardinal Offishall in the Eighties, they was only hits in Europe, decide failing to chart in their homeland. As we couldnt find them on YT.

  • They could do a much better job with the Atomic Kitty songs

  • Squeeze could have wrote this, sounds like them.

  • @okee9 They did write it, more or less: youtube.com/watch?v=pblSU5M1d1Y At least, this song is clearly based on Cool For Cats musically, and perhaps the band name "Cats UK" is a nod to that!

  • oh my goodness me ...

  • Nice one girls she even alludes to Lorraine in the song.

  • This song is so daft it's good!

  • I loved the music of the 70s but dont remember this one, sorry , did Lorraine chase do something simliar

  • you cant help singing along !!! lol

  • I take it that these are all Essex Girls . Sort of thing that they would do . One of those songs one is just reluctnat to admit one likes .

  • I remember this song. Lorraine Chase looks like Brian Connolly from the Sweet in this clip. These girls are more funnier than Atomic Kitten. Shame that they don't make songs or clips like this anymore.

  • @fatpizzaman Lorraine Chase wasn't in this group - she did make a record called 'It's Nice 'Ere, Init' based on the same tv ad but it wasn't a hit

  • Lol, this is awful.

  • Wiggy St Helens, I think I love you! Your'e the best therapy!!

  • Does anyone know what these bitches are talking about?

  • @nowdid

Got to be a yank, just got to be with this inane posting of his.

  • @nowdid it explains it completely in plain English, but you wouldn't notice that because you're clearly a thick yank.

  • My mate was the lead singer. She looks even better now.

  • love the blue satin skirt

  • PUUUUUURE WHITE TRASH !!!!!!!

    aaaaaw my bleedin lugholes!!!!!

    what a racket !!!"!!

  • Old slappers are like the poor, always with us.

  • @vordman

    As are you, pity!!

  • They are not Atomic Kitten.

    Thank Christ for that

  • A PURE CLASSIC i still have this on vinyl , on wea records

  • I don't know what happend to them.I think the lead singer looks ruff! I have checked out a little about them: Read below!

  • Gorgeous lead singer.

  • They were a British 4-piece all-girl band who had a hit in October 1979, which reached No. 22 in the UK Chart, was inspired by the '77 Campari T.V Add in which cockney model/actress Lorraine Chase responds 2 Jeremy Clyde's line "Were you truly wafted here from paradise?" with the reply, "Nahh, Luton Airport!".It featured Deena Payne, who coincidentally went on 2 appear with Chase in the long-running soap, Emmerdale. They had 2 rename 2 Cats U.K. because of the Dutch band The Cats.

  • @DavidJHarrisonEssex

Thank you. I think they' re sexy.

  • Great

  • Hahaha love the disinterested audience, like they have no choice but to watch

  • One of the singers is viv from emmerdale but i cant figure out what one it is

  • glad it's not just me that can't figure that out

  • @ davidlimond - as said below, viv is in the middle at the back.

  • ty sir

By the way see that steve wright bastard?

    He needs shot he does.

  • You are 'dead' right :-D

  • yesbut yesbut.....I too have a fairly vivid memory of Lorraine Chase singing this.

And doing the adverts - please don't tell me I've made this memory up. I specifically put Luton airport into YT search to see her with that odd one-sided hairdo again.

  • @mcgigglish As said on the caption, lorraine Chase had nothing to do with this, she just sounds like her & it was a spin off from the Campari advert that had Lorrain in, in '79 I was 11 & I remember clearly people saying it was Lorraine but it never was!

  • @DavidJHarrisonEssex

So whatever happened to these ladies?

  • @DavidJHarrisonEssex Seriously, people who thought Lorraine Chase could've sung this want their ears testing, this singer's speaking voice is several octaves lower than Lorraine's ha ha. The accents sound similar to anyone north of Watford, but not the voices.

  • Read the subtitles on the video. Lorraine Chase did the advert, but NOT the song. That is even mentioned in the lyrics.

  • One of the singers is Viv in Emmeradale Farm - true 100%

  • to think that this song was from a campari advert

  • Wheres Lorraine who was behinf the advert?

  • On Emmerdale it was a big thing on the first episode the singer (viv) was on scene and the famous phrase "Where have you come from Luton airport?"

  • The phrase was "Have you truly wafted in from Paradise?" to which Lorraine chase replies "Nah, Luton airport".

  • It wasn't from the ad, it was a later idea to cash in on the public response to the ad. Cracking song..

  • It was never on the campari ad, but it was inspired by the line in the ad.

  • I didn't know about this song..... Luton Airport woooohoo

  • Cute quartet, Nobby. Sounds almost like a Beach Party round-a-lay from here in The States. The rocking McGuire Sisters would face heavy competition with these apple-cheeked babes. Wouldn't care to mess with them, boy. Five stars for the four. Kiddingly, John

  • Good to see they had to cut out "sod it" for TOTP.

And the crowd goes absolutely mild.

  • @Supermercado they should've said "fuck it" and caused a big riot. ;)

  • @fatpizzaman i aggree

  • They shit all over Atomic Kitten Wrighty!

  • Too right! and piss...

  • Well from what my uncle told me. Alan turner s daughter from emmerdale was supposed to of been one of the singers too.

    Damo

  • Lorraine Chase had "Luton Airport" in a TV ad, it became a catchphrase and then this song which she didn't sing in.

She did go on to play Steph Turner in Emmerdale for a bit.

  • and funnily enough one of these girls is in Emmerdale!

  • oo, which one?

  • She plays Viv hope (I reasearched that just for you! cos I dont rly watch emmerdale) and it looks like she's second from the left in red and blue.

  • Oh well, learn something new everyday. haha, I don't really "do" emmerdale either.

  • Na, I do "do" corrie tho!

  • never mind Atomic Kitten! these women rock

  • Heh heh, very amusing.

  • wicked tbh

  • This is almost like a CAMP version of

    "Cool For Cats"...

  • One of the backing singers is Viv windsor from Emmerdale

  • Yeah funny isn't it, cos Lorraine chase (campari) add was also on Emmerdale.

  • the singer could sue kate nash for sounding exactly the same as her

  • ha, this was the last song at our pub quiz, cudnt even make the luton airport part out

  • Wow... a blast from the past!! haven't heard this in years. Probably would have been a bigger hit if Lorraine Chase had sung it!!

  • So glad to watch this after all these years.

I too thought that it was Lorraine Chase that sang it. Still excellent though.
