I can also hear a Yellow naped Amazon in the background seeking attention and being annoying... i have a CAG my ex used to have an amazon and that amazon is one bird i surely do NOTTTT miss!!!
My CAG started talking from the age of 3 months. Even though he only says 3 to 4 words. It is very shocking since we all know that CAG normally start talking at the of 1 or 2 years. Cheers
I'm sitting here w/my old African grey on my shoulder and she is watching with me. She also likes Sybil very much. She is riveted to the screen and talking back. Birdie TV.
@431Football If africans greys are handled well and let out of their cage they my not talk at all.Greys tend to talk more if they aren't given much attention.
@makes4u Oh wow! Well, this is Precious who belongs to my friend Ted Watson whose adult Congo African grays laid eggs and hatched her so this isn't Ben! Sorry you had to give him away. :*(
I used to have a African Gray (well, it was my ex's) and That Bird!! While entertaining could sometimes be a PAIN!!! LOL! When my ex went out to sea, I taught it to 'cluck' like a chicken and he was SO MAD that he paid a lot of money for a bird that did that! He would also ring so identicle to the phone, you'd try to answer it!! Miss it, but then again, Don't!
@sharonbowen Lol! My neighbor was raised by a drug addict prostitute who left the girls home alone all the time. Needless to say, as an adult, there were still problems with the relationship. The mother had my neighbor babysit her Congo African Gray for a week and when she got it back, it would hollar, at the top of it's lungs, "Shut the F&*K up!"
@OnePickieChickie I might point out that he had NO IDEA how she learned to say Scoobie Doo when I asked him then I busted him several months later saying Doofie! Doofie! Doofie! Doofie! Doo! to his little dog! LMAO!
@sgtclam They can start talking when they are still in the brooder, although rare. African grays are the most prolific talking birds and are highly intelligent. Although each bird will vary in it's talking ability, you are guaranteed to have a talking bird if you buy yourself a Congo African Gray. Yellow Naped Amazons are also prolific talkers.
Ted has been breeding grays for over 20 years but never kept one of the babies as a pet. Because of her extraordinary talking ability, he kept her.
@sphinxofthenewage I am so very sorry. That's really awful. I hope you feel better soon. Thank you for sharing. Oh, if you go to my channel and watch my main video of Frostie dancing, you will feel better! Try it and then let me know.
@elizmsmith No kidding! Someone, who will remain nameless, who was not me, said "F#%K YOU!" one time and it started saying that! Two days of saying "Love you!" fixed that problem. Whew!
This little one is very smart. I wonder if the people who got him/ her posted any more videos? My little Grey, Lindsay just turned one & is talking a lot now too. Don't you just love them?
@ishymanz That's very good! I have a yellow naped Amazon named Gracie. She's about 25 years old. She likes to boss the other parrots around! She's funny. There is a video on my channel of her holding a spoon and eating peanut butter out of it.
@nellie2581 It is pretty amazing. I have four parrots and one of them actually bosses the other around! Check out Avis Talking While Taking A Bath. He says "Did you have a bath?", etc. while taking a bath in the fountain.
@xXsold13rZ9Xx The next hitler is in the YouTube video called "Cussing parrot". It's the first resul when you search YouTubet! Let me know what you think!

@hotcommentator That's when Frostie, my dancing cockatoo, starts saying, "Pretty bird! Pretty bird!" He won't say it at any time but when the sun is about to go down.
@lukester4lyf She's actually saying, "Doofie Doofie Doofie Doofie Doofiedoo!", which she learned from her owner who would say that to his little puppy!
I kept asking him where Precious learned to say Scoobie Doo and he said he had no idea. Well, one day I overheard him saying that to his dog in a little baby voice! Lol! Busted!

@BahoUtot That was Gracie The Yellow Naped Amazon. Ted brought Precious into where I was and she started going on and on. I was afraid she'd stop or I would have taken Gracie out of the room! She sounded like a chicken about ready to lay an egg!
One thing to know about these beauties. Yes..they are smart...but they require a significant commitment from their owners. No one should take the adoption of a parot lightly, and you should research. If you are looking for a parrot because they talk...and for that reason...you might want to do more research. Cheers
I thought my conjur was loud..this guy sounds like he was raised in a chicken coup..I had a minah bird once named Clancey..he was given to us and made all these flushing noises..I found out his cage with the previous owner was located under the stairs next to the toilet...mmmmmmmmmmmm
@makokan2000 Lol! The clucking sound is Gracie The Yellow Naped Amazon. She was in the room. I didn't want to put her out because this one year old parrot had never carried on like this while sitting on the perch ..... but usually did that while in her cage and .......... well, I wish I had taken Gracie out!
I just got my now 10 week old African Grey home a week ago and I am still hand feeding the little sweet guy. I LOVE this bird, he is such a people lover and so beautiful. I always say 'Hello' to him when i come home and associate actions with words so he can think about them. I think he tries to say 'Hello' this morning when i was in the bathroom. I can also hear strange sounds going on when I am in the shower. This bird has my heart.
@lorerom1218 You are blessed! They are such charming, smart creatures! I had to laugh at Precious during my visits to her owner's home when she was outside enjoying the summer. She goes down to the bottom of her cage then calls the dog to come over to her. "Doofus! Come here! Come here!" It's hilarious! He likes to put his paw into the catch tray under the cages to fish out treats for himself!
How cute! My grey (Jackie) calls my chinchilla over. Her name is cookie, but she whispers it and it's adorable. She also thinks my sister's name is Barack Obama, so every time my sister comes over she goes "BARACK OBAMA!"
lol very cute. I have a senegal parrot who just mutters and screams, but when you try to make him say something, he gives you that "what ..?" look that this african gray was giving you when you tried getting him to say Scoobie Doobie Doo lol birds are so cute, glad you decided to keep her
@PerennialXII Ted breeds Senegals too but I've never seen him get any babies out of them and have never heard one of them talk.
Precious is actually saying "Doofie, Doofie, Doofie Doo!" lol because Ted says that to his little dog when nobody is around. I had no clue until I caught a grown man of 56 years talking baby talk to his dog and that is how Precious picked it up! I didn't know when I made this video! Lololol!
This is actually a funny story. Ted, her owner, who handfed her, bought a purebred pomeranian when she was a baby. Unfortunately, he named the dog Doofus. Well, I thought Precious was saying Scoobie Doo and Ted claimed he had NO idea where she learned to say that. (He has no children and doesn't watch the show.) One day, I overheard him saying, in a baby voice to his dog, "Doofie! Doofie! Doofie! Doofiedoo!" Lololol! So, it isn't Scoobie Doo, it's Doofiedoo she's saying! Lololol!
The person who owns this parrot also owns 350 other parrots. It's so LOUD at his place! After you leave, everything sounds so deathly quiet! Yes, parrots CAN and DO get on a person's nerves! I own four and have to tell them to shut up throughout the day as they can really get annoying!
No, he's a breeder. Have you seen my cockatoo Frostie dance yet? It's the main video on my channel. He's very quiet compared to other cockatoos. He's a Bare Eyed Cockatoo. He's famous all over the world for being the best dancing parrot in the world!
You should hear her now a year later! She'll go down to the bottom of the outdoor cage (when the weather is nice) and call to the little pomeranians, "Come'er! Come'er! Get over here!" It's so funny!
Precious belongs to a friend who breeds Congo Greys. One of his breeder friends had one who started talking before it came out of the brooder like yours.
Tigger, the grey in my other video can talk a lot but dumb me still hasn't figured out how to put my camcorder videos on the computer & edit them. I only posted two not so good videos that I captured on my laptop.
When I make my movies, the minute something goes wrong, I turn the camera off then start over until I get the perfect footage. Like the movies: CUT! CUT!
Oh, Karla...he is so sweet...Our baby Lindsay is 14 weeks now & I swear she is saying a few words...It is a mumbo jumbo of sounds & whistles but it really sounds like words already.Don't you just love them?
My friend, who I bought Frostie from, has been breeding parrots for about 30 years and this is the first baby he's kept out of thousands and thousands. She is something else!
Grays can talk before they leave the brooder! I'm serious. Precious picks up everything. All you have to do is say the same thing to her throughout the day for several days and she's got it!
I can hear so many things in this: "I love you too", "What do you mean" ............ and I never noticed that before until now!
I remember mine being that young and doing things similar to that of your parrot. Also, he knows the Super Mario Bros Theme lol. now, he's more interested in biting fingers lol
He's actually saying, "Doofie Doofie Doofie Doofie Doo". I didn't realize that. Ted, his owner, was talking baby talk to his little pomeranian puppy named Doofus (I know DUMB name) and Precious picked it up. I kept asking Ted where she learned Scoobie Doo from and he said he had no idea. Well, one day I caught Ted saying "Doofie Doofie Doofie Doo!" to the dog! *(You can see the dog in the video "Frostie's Outdoor Adventure".)
He plays with her a lot. She is so smart he can say a new word and in just a few days she's got it down pat proving my point that people can't cuss around birds! (Awhile back, someone said, "F%$^ you!" and she started saying it all day then two of the other grays picked it up. So, he started saying, "Love you! Love you", and it wasn't but a week later she replaced that with "love you".
What a great way to stop a bird from cursing! Ted did a wonderful thing for Precious. Some people teach their birds to curse deliberately, and then when they have to get rid of them, no one wants them. I am glad you posted this info to inform others how to transform ugly language to lovely.
I don't know if you've watched any of my Avis videos. Boy is he something! He's a tart little sass mouth Blue Crown Conure someone gave to Ted to use as a breeder because they were afraid if they gave him to someone they would abuse him. He is a handful alright but I love him dearly! If he is too nosey, and I march over to his cage to tell him to be quiet, he says, "What!!!!!????", in this real smart mouth tone. (There is a video of it called "Avis Smarts Off To His Mama on my channel.)
One thing I haven't been able to break him of is hollering, "What a bitch! What a bitch! What a bitch you are!", at the top of his lungs any time he thinks two people are arguing! I've had my friend say, "You are right Avis!", quite a few times! I love Avis so much. He constantly keeps me entertained with his antics!
I can also hear a Yellow naped Amazon in the background seeking attention and being annoying... i have a CAG my ex used to have an amazon and that amazon is one bird i surely do NOTTTT miss!!!

lol very cute. I have a senegal parrot who just mutters and screams, but when you try to make him say something, he gives you that "what ..?" look that this african gray was giving you when you tried getting him to say Scoobie Doobie Doo lol birds are so cute, glad you decided to keep her
PerennialXII 2 years ago
@PerennialXII Ted breeds Senegals too but I've never seen him get any babies out of them and have never heard one of them talk.
Precious is actually saying "Doofie, Doofie, Doofie Doo!" lol because Ted says that to his little dog when nobody is around. I had no clue until I caught a grown man of 56 years talking baby talk to his dog and that is how Precious picked it up! I didn't know when I made this video! Lololol!

scooby doo. Lol did you make him watch an episode?
GlowingBlack 2 years ago
This is actually a funny story. Ted, her owner, who handfed her, bought a purebred pomeranian when she was a baby. Unfortunately, he named the dog Doofus. Well, I thought Precious was saying Scoobie Doo and Ted claimed he had NO idea where she learned to say that. (He has no children and doesn't watch the show.) One day, I overheard him saying, in a baby voice to his dog, "Doofie! Doofie! Doofie! Doofiedoo!" Lololol! So, it isn't Scoobie Doo, it's Doofiedoo she's saying! Lololol!
OnePickieChickie 2 years ago
haha Either way both are funny. mix them together and you have Scooby Doofie Doo!

The person who owns this parrot also owns 350 other parrots. It's so LOUD at his place! After you leave, everything sounds so deathly quiet! Yes, parrots CAN and DO get on a person's nerves! I own four and have to tell them to shut up throughout the day as they can really get annoying!
OnePickieChickie 2 years ago
350?! What's his name? Buddha?! I always wanted cockatoo (cuz' they're one hell of a headbangers) but after gathering some info I said: screw it. =D
Chemognoza 2 years ago
No, he's a breeder. Have you seen my cockatoo Frostie dance yet? It's the main video on my channel. He's very quiet compared to other cockatoos. He's a Bare Eyed Cockatoo. He's famous all over the world for being the best dancing parrot in the world!

You should hear her now a year later! She'll go down to the bottom of the outdoor cage (when the weather is nice) and call to the little pomeranians, "Come'er! Come'er! Get over here!" It's so funny!

My parrot started talking at the age of 2 months. It was so cute :D My parrot is just like yours. Hes 3 now though.
ClubPinkz 2 years ago
Precious belongs to a friend who breeds Congo Greys. One of his breeder friends had one who started talking before it came out of the brooder like yours.
OnePickieChickie 2 years ago
Tigger, the grey in my other video can talk a lot but dumb me still hasn't figured out how to put my camcorder videos on the computer & edit them. I only posted two not so good videos that I captured on my laptop.

OnePickieChickie 2 years ago
Oh, Karla...he is so sweet...Our baby Lindsay is 14 weeks now & I swear she is saying a few words...It is a mumbo jumbo of sounds & whistles but it really sounds like words already.Don't you just love them?
sue345sue 2 years ago
My friend, who I bought Frostie from, has been breeding parrots for about 30 years and this is the first baby he's kept out of thousands and thousands. She is something else!
Grays can talk before they leave the brooder! I'm serious. Precious picks up everything. All you have to do is say the same thing to her throughout the day for several days and she's got it!
I can hear so many things in this: "I love you too", "What do you mean" ............ and I never noticed that before until now!
OnePickieChickie 2 years ago
Lindsay is adorable. I am sure you love her dearly. I'll look forward to your videos.

OnePickieChickie 2 years ago
Precious is so highly intelligent and adorable! Does Ted spend much time training her?
Linda
birdlady423 2 years ago
He plays with her a lot. She is so smart he can say a new word and in just a few days she's got it down pat proving my point that people can't cuss around birds! (Awhile back, someone said, "F%$^ you!" and she started saying it all day then two of the other grays picked it up. So, he started saying, "Love you! Love you", and it wasn't but a week later she replaced that with "love you".
OnePickieChickie 2 years ago

OnePickieChickie 2 years ago
I will check Avis out! He sounds like quite a character.
birdlady423 2 years ago
One thing I haven't been able to break him of is hollering, "What a bitch! What a bitch! What a bitch you are!", at the top of his lungs any time he thinks two people are arguing! I've had my friend say, "You are right Avis!", quite a few times! I love Avis so much. He constantly keeps me entertained with his antics!
OnePickieChickie 2 years ago
That is so funny! Is there a video with him hollering: "What a bitch!" That would be so hilarious! I will check out his videos.
birdlady423 2 years ago
No, there isn't. Usually when he says that I'm trying to explain something to someone (if you know what I mean)! Lol!
OnePickieChickie 2 years ago
I must point out that Ted gave Avis to me and his cage door is always open and he spends much of his day on my shoulder.
