To be honest all northerners seem to think all southerners are posh snobs who hate the north which really isn't true. I'm from the South and i dont mind northerners but it really pisses me off when northerners think we all talk and act like the bloody queen.

oh my god! This was so much fun. I'm from Norway but lived in England doing my AS-levels...My English has always been very "standard British", but I went to a camp in Winchester (south) for a about two weeks and therefor get a more southern accent, then I moved to my host family in Preston (north) and I could defiantly hear a HUGE different from the S to the N, E to W, etc. I think it's a lot of fun though, and I've fallen in love with the northern way. My teachers back home HATE it though!

I'm from Leeds and I just started uni in September and share a flat with 7 Southerners. Never have I had my accent taken the mick out of than in those first few weeks, sometimes I still can't say somethings without having my flatmates rolling around on floor laughing. It's all in good fun, though, I just never realised how bad my accent was! 'We off t' bar?'- Is one of their favourites :p
