I realize you all know this but I feel a need to define what a honeypot is. A honeypot is when seemingly useful information or a part of a system is exposed easily enough for an attacker to access it but what the attacker actually wants is someplace else. If you keep the attacker focused on the honeypot you make the attacker less likely to succeed and more vulnerable to getting caught. Just remember, it's okay to spy but it's a felony to write a virus. How stupid do you think we are?
