  • Awesome

  • Stroking the fuck out of that banjo.

  • I've never loved the instrument banjo this much... :3

  • lol the banjo player is rapin his banjo...literally

  • Best version of Roll Away Your Stone I've heard

  • these guys kick ass

  • Alec Baldwin is so freakin talented...

  • @BbbyRob30 LOL...good one! And so is Tim Tebow and a young Stephen Fry, two other people it's said that Marcus resembles.

  • this band is so unbelievably good!!

  • @TheFryersmuck Really? The tenth century? Almost thirteen thousand years after the first permanent civilizations at the height of feudalism and people are living in caves? And almost a thousand years before the first automobiles and they're driving fire engines? I sincerely hope that you're just joking and you're just not very funny, because the alternative is that you're a moron.

  • @zhanks1 The alternative is it isn't meant to be serious and is aiming at a different audience than you. What is moronic is that you seem to believe your opinion is absolute.

  • And then I jizz to this song

  • Back in the tenth century everyone lived in caves and to keep the thieves and general scum out they had massive stones as doors but the local fire brigade found that they couldn't drive their fire engines into the caves if they had a fire to put out so they told the cavemen and women "roll away your stones" That's where Mick Jagger got the name for his rock band.

  • BANJO THRUST BANJO THRUST BANJO THRUST BANJO THRUST BANJO THRUST BANJO THRUST

  • getting "Roll Away Your Stone, I'll Roll Away Mine" tattooed on my arm.

  • On occasion I enjoy admiring the lipstick marks I left on my Mumford and Sons poster. Of course I did not kiss paper, are you crude? I put a heart with the words "TheFryersmuck" in Revlon's longlasting Fire Engine Red.

  • wait... is theFryersmuck and impostor... i thought it was just "Fryersmuck"

  • 3:00 What the heck is he doing??? Lol.

  • @killurbekilled he always seems to being doing his own thing. hah.

  • @kmfdmgeek It sure seems it, it looks like he's trying to channel every known 'God' into his body at the same time...O.O

  • I love how the live version of almost all of their songs have more views than the studio version. That's real talent.

  • Nothing much to say about this song besides simply stunning and pure genius.

  • Greatest band ever. No one even compares.

  • country winston

  • real music to my ears......finally.

  • Son this is what your father grew up listing to

  • I used to regt i missed the beattles era by 20 years. I used to be desapointed to tell my children that my generations legacy was kattie perry lil wayne 50 cent and gaga. Now i am happy and proud to tell them.

  • Even though thousands of people 'like' this video and my one 'like' won't change it much, I still feel compelled to do it!

  • Mumford and Sons is my fav new band, u guys are amazing, I tried to win tickets to see u in Toronto through 102.1 the edge but couldn't :( maybe next time I just buy em and make sure I get out!

  • OMG!! Im in love.

  • Min 3.39.....

    Orgasm!! º-º

  • Fuckin beautiful.

  • This is so Good and down to earth. Awesome.

  • Hey what genre of music is this? This is good calm/kick back music.

  • @technishun1 "modern folk/rock" maybe. lol

  • damn no drums or drummer and still an amazing band

  • Damm from five finger death punch to this! I think im bi polar.

  • It is so fun to watch different versions of these boys' songs and see how they are developed and polished. It is something like attending a concert where the voices swell from a soloist to the full choir in 8 part harmony.

  • where the hell is ben?

  • It is unbelievable listening to this band because I drive a bus that gets the old folks to bingo and to get their hair dyed blue and such like. The downside of this job is the way they constantly moan.So I decided that I would play Mumfords album loud to drown them out.It was unbelievable they were all singing along and some of them were dancing! One of them asked me for sex but I asked the elderly gentleman to go and sit down.

  • @TheFryersmuck So what about the elderly women? LOL

  • love this <3

  • this song takes on a whole new meaning from a Lasombra's perspective...It's awesome either way.

  • Thank you. Love this simple version. I love them so.

  • Thank you. Love this simple version. I love them so.

  • Epic.

  • Modern Beatles?!

  • It was obvious to everyone except myself that I wouldnt be selling many pies today especially with the price of fish and suchlike but being the possessor of a stubborn streak I refused to crumble and fold and as if the Gods deemed I had earned myself a slice of good intention out of nowhere Barney Betsington appeared and offered me a nice tempter for the whole shooting match I said Barney you have put a sunshine smile upon my face when all I was feeling was the cold bite of winters anger.

  • @TheFryersmuck You are a literary genius.

  • three grown men and not a razor to shave with on any of them ?

  • What a misleading title! It says "live" there's NO WAY this isn't studio. :)

  • @TheZombiesExist nope they're just that good! :D

  • why i just cant stop listen this music?

  • am i the only one that thinks these guys look like they are on coke?

  • Wheres Ben?

  • I love the references to Shakespeare

  • words cant describe how much i love this band and their music. theyre so original and they make.. such soulful music.

  • I've read that they are influenced by Americana type music, but I think they are unique. Great voices, great musicianship, passion in the music. I hope their career sustains. I'd rather hear this than 99% of what I hear on the radio and see on any tv or video channel.

  • likes it.. mean the music fuck what they says

  • @kuulotautinen

whatta fukka do ya dude saying are ya drunk?

  • @kuulotautinen

    no DUDE im not

  • @kuulotautinen

    dislike

  • marcus mumford? your voice is seductive and I'm already addicted ♥

  • These guys are jus great man!

  • can someone confirm he's playing in open d tuning? Any help is gladly accepted :D

  • @katmahon I cant confirm it, because I know close to nothing about guitars. But I do know that he states in a video that most of the songs are in open d (:

  • @taytape oh okay, thanks! :)

  • I love this song. If I ever feel down, bummed, or anything I just put this album on repeat. Such amazing music, I can't wait for more.

  • This unique band is so refreshing after all the dumb-ed down bands' efforts to make music. After listening to Mumford and Sons, almost all others are silly and shallow. May they grow and increase in talent and wisdom...

  • @GodsSeer agreed, i cant listen to any other music now like justin beiber and boy bands becasue now it just seems so fake and made up, whereas this is pure talent and heart :')

  • @pjt1996 oh hallelujah to that!

  • @GodsSeer And in Jesus' name Amen

  • @GodsSeer now days I'd have to agree, another relatively recent display of talent is that of the band "Neutral Milk hotel" Check out their songs in my favorites.

  • Sisyphus..

  • DANCE BANJO MAN DANCE

  • @adamgore1 isn't he awesome!!!!!

  • @MLynnJo he's a true champ

  • pure. raw. beautiful. music.. life doesn't get much better

  • Marcus Mumford, you fucking beauty!

  • Love the Bassman (T. Dwane) !!

  • They make me. Essentially pure genius is what they create, and who they are. I love you guys. You're beyond amazing. -Sarah :)

  • this is possible the most beautiful song i've heard. ever. (sorry Beatles...i love you so much---not that i'm comparing...just saying) thank you, boys.

  • Holy Fuck. I Love Winston.

  • Doesnt he look like a baldwin?

  • @DAMDUR74 He does! I so agree it's on the back of my head but I just never said it out.

  • ;_;

    Where is my lovely Ben?!

  • OU EST BEN!!!!!!!!!!??????????

  • i think the ending is a little bit weak for this great band....(omg did i really criticized mumford&sons??)

  • @Hautamekki i think the ends better! but more stomping required

  • I'm lovin it.

  • Lol at the banjo player. But he's got major skills though.

  • I have just been promoted to the heady position of Chief 'Stone Roller' after I carefully put Mick Jagger and Keith Richards into a liquidiser while they were asleep.Once they had reached the correct consistency I then put them on my flour coated kitchen worktop and proceeded to roll them into thin strips so they could be made into a pie.The whole tribe then ate the pie.I would like to make it crystal clear at this juncture that no stones were hurt or injured in the making of this pie.

  • Oh my! If my bro was still around to be able to hear this. But I know he's up there managing the sound table!

  • I want stomping, damnit.

  • @BowedOak1 Holy shit yes. Little Lion Man banjo-stomp moved me. Fucking epic.

  • @BowedOak1 i thought it sounded a little different and now i know why :(

  • touches all emotions...whirling in dance to tears of self discovery!

  • Leave Winston alone, he's a great banjo player. He always dances with his banjo like that, it's his signature thing.

  • @bandgeekbabe822 I agree! He's an amazing banjo player, plus the banjo is resting on his stomach so you can see it's not any where near the place where he would be 'getting friendly with it'. People are so immature these days.

  • Leave Winston alone, he's a great banjo player. He always dances with his banjo like that, it's his signature thing.

  • I think he is getting a little to friendly with hia banjo

  • @MrMacasam ya...I kind of agree. I cant help but think that whenever I watch this...but maybe he's just reeeally "feeling" his music?

  • if i could play the banjo like that guy i would die because i'd be too steezy for myself.

  • LOVE M & S

check out The Noms as well!

  • LOVE M & S

  • To play the banjo like he does would be a dream come true. I love you guys!!!

  • just started to follow Mumford and Sons, they're great!

    one question: Who is/was Fryersmuck?

can't inform me about him, because his channel is closed.

I enjoy making people laugh and I hope people don't take me too seriously". Vielleicht er meinst es ist alle Scherzt? Ich habe keine Ahnung.

Aber diese Band ist einfach Super!

  • I hear banjo...PADDLE FASTER!!!

  • I LOVE these guys but they need to work on their live performance im not hating at all i really dig this but it could be better they are new and will be one of the best bands in a long time i can almost guarantee it lol

  • the last member is at a fotball game :>!

  • it sounds so "undone" without Bens Piano playing.... :(

  • Danke für diese Supergruppe-kraftvolle Musik, wieder so ein Song ,der ins Ohr geht!

  • the guy plays the strangest rhythms I've ever heard, they just are almost impossible to feel during the verses.....amazing stuff though

  • @oceantracks I agree completely. I play guitar for many many years, but i can't understand how he does the rhythms, as you say, they are so strange, sometimes it seems they don't fit there, or seems that he make them without a patern, and sing at the same time, for me it's umbelieaveble. But it really sounds amazing. I know, my english is too bad...

  • @jarabe70

This is just a suggestion but, He's mad mandolin player, when playing mandolin you get this rhythm of off beat strikes that melt together in such a sweet and sorrowful tune.

this man is so talented it's unbelievable he could sing alone without any instruments nd it would sound as if he was the whole band

  • Ow, this is a non-foot-stomping version :s Love it when they do that!

  • The guy plays the guitar with alot of heart alot of soul. It's awesome when a song like this makes u feel great. Fantastic song beautifully composed love it!!! :)

  • Think i love the banjo player xx

  • @abihail

Well im sure all musicians love their music and who are you to judge what makes musicians or artists good...

Not tryin to be a hater just sayin

  • They look like they're enjoy very much their music! That's why they're good :D

  • he's making love with his banjo.

  • <3!

  • I have written to Marcus to ask him to come and play a few live tracks for my unwell kids. To my surprise he replied and has told me he will be at my house this weekend. I think this gesture proves what a kind person he is and I know without any doubt how much my young goats will enjoy our private show in the barn.

  • @Fryersmuck I hope all goes well. I asked him to come play for my sick owls and he said that he didn't give a hoot. What a shame considering all we have been through.

  • You only right these for either Personal or Public entertainment, and it's kinda wierd and my own personal opinion but yet vary crafty , I just came from a video of mumford and sons and they were all saying how stupid Americans are, well I know I'm not the greatest and the most intelligent but I'm smart enough to see how prejudice everyone actually is, and by calling Americans stupid and prejudice themselves you yourself are more prejudice and unintelligent than any "American" Proud to be one!

  • @Fryersmuck

my main point was even know these comments are interestingly odd, I rather read them rather than read about how people hate my country :/

  • @Fryersmuck How did you get in touch with him??? Did you send him an email or write to his fan mail????

  • @ballistaking29 carrier pigeon is the most reliable way to contact Marcus, rolling stone that he is.

  • @kittylynch007 I'm sorry I'm from Canada what is carrier pigeon?? Is it like our puralator?? And I don't think his genre is in the rolling stones category lol.

  • @ballistaking29 that would be a pigeon with a note tied around its leg and sent off to deliver it.

  • @ballistaking29 y it is the same as ur puralator. And markes played for the rolling stones some years ago.

  • @MrBloodshed Dude Marcus isn't even old enough to have played with the rolling stones. The rolling stones were playing in the 70's Marcus was born in the 80's.

  • @Fryersmuck did he actually go to your house?!

  • @butterfly2048 he is full of shit i know it.

  • @Fryersmuck so how has it been?

  • @Fryersmuck Still a legend after all this time :'D

  • @Fryersmuck

So how was the private show?

  • My mom asks me "why a banjo?" I ask "why not?"

  • This is my favorite Mumford song, when I first heard it I was driving down the road and had to stop my car because what it made me feel was too powerful to do anything else but to listen.

  • This song's Amazing!

  • PLEASE LIKE "MUMFORD & SONS FOR MARK" on facebook, it's for a great cause! 19 year old PGW worker, Mark Keeley, was killed in a gas explosion earlier in the year. He planned on venturing down South in the summer to see his favorite band play, Mumford and Sons, and sadly cannot anymore. His friends and family are doing everything they can to bring the band to Philadelphia to play in his memory this summer. The more likes the page gets, the more attention it will receive. Please help out!

  • @kthanksmarisa why cant he attend the concert anymore? need tickets?

  • @mudvaynekills He was killed in a gas explosion.

  • Look at Marcus's guitar strings. Hardcore...

  • @hathatsme what? he just put new ones on lol

  • Awww @ Winston. :] He is so cute. <3

and Winston's banjo is pretty frickin sweet
