It aired well before my time, but a very cool PSA, James Earl Jones' narration adds just the right chilling touch. I seem to remember an old PSA which I think was done by the same guys who animated this one, that was a pro-brushing ad that had Don Quixote tilting at windmills with a giant toothbrush! If anyone has a copy of that, feel free to post it!
I saw this as a kid in late 60's and it scared the shit out of me! Which was scarier? Jones saying DIE or that huge fucking red heart with the burning torch on it at end of commercial?
This makes cigarrettes look like the cool bad asses that kids want to be. Like Darth Vader/Maul! I wanted to be like them as a kid, Skywalker was a pussy!
Let me guess, "bestoldcommercials" - your classic commercials all come from the same source, "Television's Greatest Commercials" by Madacy Home Entertainment? (They must, because I have that set and every commercial I've seen that you've posted is on that DVD.) Not a complaint, because I like that set myself.
