  • the original model is the Opel Corsa that was originally built in Spain (that's where I live), exactly in the factory located in Zaragoza province. This model has been made to sell worldwide and logically has to change his name depending on the geographical location. For example, Vauxhall Nova in the UK (since 2nd generation, Vauxhall Corsa). The Spanish slogan was something like: "Ingeniería alemana a tu alcance" (German engineering at your reach), and it's true at all, don't you think so?

  • great little cars

  • Layla is in this adv, again! (:

  • Yer Aw full eh s@ite ave seen plenty standard novas and old volvos ARE rotten a have ti weld them every week in ma garage as well as fords

  • Once Driven Forever Smitten - too true :)

  • My apologies, but Volvos are one of very few cars from the 80s that didnt rot. My Nova doesnt have a 'redtop' in nor do I have any intention of fitting one. Mine when built will be used only for competing in road rallies and other club level motorsport. As said before when set up well with a good driver they are one hell of a weapon...take the blinkers off

  • You cannot find an unmodified vauxhall nova, not even if you googled it as all of them are either dead in the scrapyards or being attacked by those stupid morons who think that putting a 'redtop' 2.0 engine in it, they instantly have a 'car' that is worth bragging about. haha the car is a shell, so if you take out the original engine and put a chavalier engine or vectra engine in its place, it sure as hell isn't a nova anymore. So don't be bragging at how your nova can 'smoke' larger cars...

  • What's good about a chavved up Corsa? I just says of a young person "I'am a buerk!"

  • hahaha special effects have changed so much! :)

why are novas called corsas in some countries?

  • @CyberNetTV

Because Vauxhalls are rebadged Opels and everywhere else excpect UK "novas" are Opel Corsas.

  • @sekopiski ahh... thanks!

  • All of you get to the chavmobile!!!!

  • yeah... the nova was a dog

  • i hate them chavy novas

  • a early tv add from 1952 lol

  • ok... wtf

  • Like it when it turns into a dragster.

  • not all Nova drivers are chavs, in fact i think very few are in this day and age. I love my Mk1 Nova (even squarer front end). Novas have so much character and are a rare sight on the roads. The Nova is not a shit car and a well set-up Nova will embarass most other cars on the road. Yes tin-worm has always been a problem with Novas but how many cars from the 80s/90s didnt rot?! Excellent cars with excellent engines. Long live the Nova!!

  • @8valvenova ermmm..volvos didnt rot?

  • this ad is quality!.....shame Vauxhall dont do fun anymore in their adverts!

  • but y doesnt it sel 2 america?

  • i think the chavs got a bit too carried away with the 'road hog bit' lol

who'd of though generations later, thousands of these cars would become destined as chav mobiles? lol

  • hahaha quality! im a vw man, but this made me chuckle.. i want a nova now!

0:26 - that just proves they were made for rallying lol!

  • LOL @ 0:49 I remember this advert like it was yesterday, I was only 7 in 1990 but remember this ad, funny how this joke on stling actuallt stook with some people.

  • wot a car lol

  • love the car, why cant they make ads like this anymore, makes u smile and makes u want a nova

  • Quite common in 90s cars

  • wheres the chavs?

  • Fashion at the time, something's made in 2001 are not to our taste today.

  • WTF

  • LOL! ROFL my COPTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i feel like i'm tripping when i watch this hahaha

  • The Nova Shouldent Of Changed to the corsa! Gr8 CAR!!!

  • thats cos they suck cock, chavvy boys and thier modified shitheap

  • is that the sri??

  • The nova is a decent little motor. But unfortunately it was adopted by the 'chav modified car crowd'. Id rather drive a standard Nova like this than some desperate attempt to look like you are cool in a modified car. Lets face it the money some of these Lonsdale boys spend on modifying a nova they could probably buy a brand new corsa.

  • My first car was an unmodified four door Nova, aah so many memories! Loved it to bits!

  • @trigga1uk yer but why wud you want corsa even when they where new back in the day i had a red 2 door saloon with a cav v6 in it it was droped 60mm all round with astra gte wheel in matt black i never got called i chav not once saying that when i was 18 chav just ment you where a kid

  • @ford4rlife trust me, you did get called a chav, but you couldnt hear it over the tunnel size exhaust you had fitted.

  • @trigga1uk nope just a straight 4 inch exhaust pipe it was what you'd call a sleeper

  • Exellent little car, built for the masses & everyone remembers them! Top little hot hatch, used to have the Turbo diesel, 50+ mpg & a very quick, great engine shame about the tin worm.

  • You guys who automatically assume that 'cahvs' drive novas are so stereotypical! Not all people who drive Novas are chavs! There is a difference between 'shavvy modified' and 'not over the top tastefully modified'. Not everybody who owns a Nova sticks a massive spoiler and chavvy lights on it and drives like a d*ck. AGH u make me so mad!

  • I supose Im going to get abuse for having a couple of typos now... what i meant was *chavs and *chavvy

  • rofl!

  • Brilliant!

  • haha the car may not be the best and yes people in tracksuits should be in the vid butttt i love the way the video is made. its really good for the age of the video. and personally i'm a jap fan boy but you gotta admit a c20xe in a nova is pretty impressive sometimes

  • wank cars.

  • funny vid. when its bobin up and down its huilarious lol. i feel its missing som young men in tracksuits......

  • Legal! Muito bem feito!

  • worst car ever

  • it's an amazing car, and very reliable i drive one 15years old and still goes every time i turn the key. It's a great car and good for muckin around in

  • @ the end, the car laughs like mutley!

  • To all those dissing the Nova, my sister (estranged) has always driven Vauxhalls. First car was a 1978 Chevette, the second was a 1985 Astra, then a 1996 Astra and at the moment, it's a Corsa Mk2. She has always found them to be great. Mike S.

  • Good God alive! Comments 'rust bucket' - barely any cars of that age didnt rust. '<unreliable>' Other than perhaps the 205 or Xr2i's more long living cars of such an age and engine capacity are hard 2 find. Other wrongs in comments I can't b polite about.

  • brill, liked that

  • 'Don't stand there admiring' admiring wot?! the shitness! lol that adverts not rite, wheres his burberry cap and trackies tucked into his footie socks!

  • true why is it chavs allways drive vauxhalls ?

  • not sure my friend, jus generally seems to be a chav mobile, its cos their easy to modify and sticking a 2 litre engine in it is apparently quite easy!

  • cheeap to run, buy, insure and dont breakdown. I have a MK4 Astra and I aint a Ned/Chav. They tend to go for Citroen saxo's or pugs now.

  • LMAO wat a piece of shit lol

  • I actually remember that, based on old cartoons. Voice over by Griff Rhys Jones.

  • that car is a piece of crap

  • rust bucket

  • is that harry hill the voiceover?

  • no, its Griff Rhys Jones.

  • Quite a good advert; It would've caught the attention of younger people going for their first car. The scene with the 'vette is not to be taken literally(obviously) it is stating in less words that their Nova can give "road hogs" a run for their money, you don't actually see it outrunning it. I like the analogy to a 'pet' too, tries to give the impression that it's like part of the family. Only thing I find strange is that it's being marketed at male business type.

  • A quite bad advert in my opinion. The car is not agile, not quick, not reliable, not characterisic; just not good. Whereas the advert says otherwise.

  • Not really, it was probably quite good by 1990 standards

  • it's an amazing car, and very reliable i have one 13years old and still goes every time i turn the key. so i think that proves it reliable and its a torquey wee thing so dont sit there and bad mouth this amazing car, OK!YOU WANKER

  • the final word of the matter is that the Nova is SHIT. BUY SOMETHING DECENT!!!!!!!!

  • AMEN!!!

The Nova is possibly the worst car ever made! That bit were he's got in it, started driving it and its bouncing down the road, made me pi** myself, because thats what there actually like to drive! What a bag of sh*t!

  • I could'nt agree more total shit 17 - 25 yr olds should be banned from driving them after all how can you take anyone seriously driving one of these uugh! £5K spent on a worthless peice of crap you can buy a scooby RA for that...

  • that is the dumbest shit i've ever seen.

  • Funny how Vauxhall shows another GM product (albeit an American Chevrolet Corvette)apparently having a seizure at the stop light! The Vette must need a new carbureteur! (As if a Vaux Nova would give a Vette a run for the money.... how stupid did GM think we were?)

  • how stupid do you think they are risking lawsuit against another company , that way they make the comercial and people wont even notice that's another car from the same brand.

  • it looks like the guy in the corvette slammed on the brakes lol. doesnt look like a carb failure.

i dont think there is a car on this planet that could lose against a nova.

  • dish

  • lolol

  • Lol
