i would say "OK". You can slow down the shutter and it looks great under low light, but you get really bad motion blur. I filmed a lunar eclipse and it came out amazing without that grainy look, but I was using the slow shutter feature. Without that feature, you will get that grainy look.
well when i said i used no special lenses...i meant no camera attachments...like a telemacro lens or anything. i did increase the contrast a hair when i edited the video. i need to clarify that in the description. sorry for being unclear. thanks for the comment!

i paid $700 when it was on sale. you probably can get it cheaper online somewhere now. i just searched hdr-hc3 on google and found one new for $550. its definitely worth it if you got the money b/c it makes videos look so much better.
