the right hand technique of zakk is bad i dont reccomened to anyone to start playing holding the pick like that.about zakk he is used to hold it like that and he is famous so he can hold it as he wants

if u are talking to me i am serious check all you tube for picking lessons.zakk is a great guitarist i love his work and solos his unique melodic solos and pich harmonics and he really has he own picking style but i dont recommend it to anyone its not right for beginers

Alternate picking is the way to go for sure,its a must for that cool zakk sound.Legatos important also for some of the satriani,alexi laho stuff,but i gotta confess my lagato stinks like a badgers ass.

I've been trying to hold it like him for several months ... and man, I gotta be honest, I just cant play in that way.

In my opinion is harder to play in the way he holds the pick.

@spawk1993 He just works the fast parts on the high strings more out of his elbow than most do. Most people really move their wirst very fast, he just pulls is whole arm up and down...

Yea, it's his typicall comments like "once you get it going its gonna go like... [20 notes picked per second]".It always makes me laugh how shit I'm at playing compared to him :D.

Probably not, usually he uses EMG 81 and 85. However, I'm not sure if EMG makes a chrome set like in this video. I know there probably not, but they look a lot like the Gibson Iommi pickups.

They are anniversary edition emg's, kirk hammet and james hetfield have them in a few guitars as well. Zakk probably has access to them all the time, but im sure it was easy enough to pick them up as maybe emg's biggest endorser. You can tell its his sound, and not the iommi pickups, were they burstbuckers they would obviously have pole pieces.
