Can anyone reply to my comment here or email me and tell me what I can substitute for bannanas in my green smoothie? The bannans give it a nice sweet taste and creamy consistancy-however, I have found bannanas give me heartburn. Any advice?
Bananas have given me issues in the past when I neglected to heed the food combining and digestive timing limitations of the human body and digestive environment. Try limiting the combos, combining bananas with other SWEET fruits, search for food combinging and digestive timing and last but not least, consider eating bananas alone on an empty stomach to see how you feel. Learn about yourself via the MANY biofeedback clues.
It would be a lot quicker, but I guess the downfall there would be that the plastic bottles really add up. I guess when you make it at home you might still have plastic bags involved except now I use reusable bags for produce at the grocery store so I don't have to worry about that. : D
Not sure- sorry. :) And yes, I got it off my Dreamfall CD. It was great having a game with so many great musicians on it. I have a video with music by Ingvild Hasund from Dreamfall, too. <3 Sorry for the long delay to reply. I wasn't online for a while.
Sweet! : D Sometimes I wish I had a higher power blender cause I bet it'd be a better consistency, but it's nice that a person can still make it on a normal blender and it's still good.
Odd that you would say that. I just bought a vita-mix, and I must say that it has expanded my nutritional and culinary horizons, given the machine's versatility and power. Food for thought: you can buy a refurbsihed one with a full seven year warranty for a low price directly from the vitamix corporation. Sometimes refurbished machines are even better than new ones. Still, skillfully using an average blender - technique - works, too.
Yeah, pretty much nasty looking. XD If it were strained, I think it wouldn't look so sickly, but then you'd miss out on the fiber. It feels really nice to drink. I mean, healthy, you know? Really refreshing.
Yay! I hope you like it. :3 It always disappoints me when someone turns their nose up at something because it looks weird. It seems like such a lost opportunity to be so picky and scared of something.
Personally, I think it looks kinda cool. Like fairy puke or something. XDDD
Agreed. I get some odd looks somethimes when I drink one of these at work. Interestingly, the people least healthy and open-minded do it, and, frankly, I make no attempt to explain a wit to them about it, as I hate trying to explain a good thing to a predjudiced person. I look the look, too; I pretend it's space alien juice:).
XD Space alien juice. XD You know, sometimes when health conversations come up and I mention this, some people think it's cool and others start saying "oh, my husband would never," "my kids would never," and I just kinda go Okaaaaay.... I drop it and don't waste my time. XD I get what you mean.
I made a really yummy one recently with spinach, kale, carrot, maca powder, a little coconut oil, strawberries, and kiwi. It's a little crazy, but was pretty good, in my opinion! n...n
That bad boy is a 400 watt Hamilton Beach 12 speed blender. There are certainly higher powered pieces of equipment out there, but for the person on a budget, it gets the job done. <3
Awesome awesome awesome! I JUST got a blender for xmas. I am TOTALLY making this. Also, i noticed you stored the extra in a plastic bin. How long does this last in the fridge? I'm the only I know that would love something like this so if I made a big batch I would have much leftover. :3
Then trick him by waiting until St. Patrick's Day and serving him a St. Patty's Day Smoothie and tell him it's fruit and food dye. <33 Then if he likes it, keep the secret as long as possible anyway! Lol. <3
Hmmm It's not going to work. We're Jewish so no St. Patrick's Day and then he would never touch any green drink or not much in the way of green food. Thank you I especially liked your videos about Kanzashi tutorials.
I'm sure they are! I'm a person of humble financial means however, and I can't afford one. For now, my small blender will suffice. Thanks for watching!
I wanna get a blender for christmas. *Note to self: Tell Mom. She LOVES to get us home-stuff for christmas.)I'll definitely give this a try once I do. I'm hoping to try and get in much better shape this next year :)
I bet you could pick one up for around 20$, Darlin'. Of course, if it's not one of those fancy Vitamixes or Blendteks, then you'll probably want to let it run a while like mine to get it to be more smooth... You could maybe check a garage sale or ask for one for your winter holiday, if you celebrate. <3
You may not believe me until you try, but you're really not going to taste them. <3 Try something really mild like just spinach with banana and whatever fruit you have the first time. I'm sure you'll be surprised. If you don't love the taste of greens, then maybe it's even more important you find a handy way to get them in like this. n...n
The music was fine. You might want to tell your viewers that any fresh vegetables or fruits should be rinsed, even if they are in a bag from the health food store.
That's a good point. The video moves too fast to see, but I wash and scrub each vegetable with a brush, even the ones I'm going to peel. The only thing I didn't wash in there was the spinach. The bag claimed to be pre-washed, but you're right. I should have washed it. Honestly, I do whenever I have made it other times, I don't know why I got lazy this time. It's a bad time to do it. XD you know, when you're putting up proof you didn't online! XD lol.

Oh, that sounds really good! I'm glad to know this substitute because my sister doesn't like bananas very much. I'll try that combo some time.

The start of the video looks almost like a post card from a creative mind. What a great combination: creativity and high nutrition.

Sorry for the super long delay! I was on vacation! <3
I've read that it's still decent up to 3 days, but the longer it sits, the more the nutrients disappear. Same as with fresh foods!
I hope you've been doing it and that you love them. <3
