your right buddy, these are beasts,I ride one myself,I ride about30,000 miles a year and they are not the most comfortable scooter on the road but they are what keeps me from going down due to the fact they handle, stop and perform as to keep the cagers off my butt! I would start off with a 600 as to get the feel and see how this type of ride is going to be for you, wear your gear, be safe, and enjoy that R1, I live mine!
@exslang02 what the fuck you talking about light years ?? your smoking some serious crack my friend any bike can be master if you out effort into it you moron, how many light years is a bicycle away from you fag
@lowmonte1978 you are the biggest piece of dried up monkey jizz stain i have ever witnessed. A Moron like you couldn't even handle a ninja 250 let alone an R1 the only thing you can master is wanking off to motorcycle magazines with your left hand you idiot. Seriously everyone knows you don't have the balls or skill to handle a liter bike and the fact remains 99% of riders who ride 1000cc bikes on the road can't take their bikes nowhere near their limit. Unless you're Ben spies or pro riders fag
@pennyplayer89 yo ppl say that you should start with a 600 or 750 but you started with a r1 did you regret starting with a r1 or was that the right move?
@monkyturky well in my opinion you can start with a 250cc and that's cool too. its not like jumping from arithmetic to calculus in terms of application so the cc's didn't matter. the mechanism of moving any motorcycle is on the same platform and if you look at it like that it's all about how comfortable you are with your self. remember the bike is just a bad ass machine but it can't ride itself and for the whole process to work in harmony....bike need man and man want bike so no regrets here.
@exslang02 Ya dude really needed you to point out i don't ride like Rossi, come on guy quit being a douche. If you ask me your the poser & i bet i can handle an R1 better than you any day! Some would argue street riding is more dangerous than track but anyhow i personally don't claim to be a badass but i'll tell you this, you can wait as long as you want until you become a professional racer which will probably be never to ride a R1 or R6 or any bike for that matter but where's the fun in that?
@rdy4wht Just so You don't think I'm just talking out of my ass or trying to be a prick about it. I've been down before on a previous bike. It's not so much about the difference in power, but more the difference in feel and in respect to the bikes tolerance for small rider errors. That's all I'm saying.
@pmrowe22 no your good bro i don't take it that way at all. i've been down too on this same bike so i know how it feels...thank God for my Shoei. Your exactly righy its all about repecting the bike no matter how many CC's it is.
@rdy4wht Yea man, I understand completely. I'll stick with my 636. I just brought it home yesterday after selling my F4i... There's suck a huge difference in power that I almost feel as if I'm re-learning how to ride. I think a big part of riding is a little something that young kids these days lack. Respect. I don't know how old you are or how you ride, but just respect the bike and it'll be good to you. Ride safe and keep the shiny side up. :)
Don't mean to sound like an ass here, but many experienced riders will tell you that a 600 is a poor choice for a first bike none the less getting a 1000cc bike... Nice bike but be careful. just my .02
@pmrowe22 your actually kinda right dude but my big balls got in the way and i insisted on learning the hard way lol. i also figured i would grow out of the 600 cause i know myself and want more power which also many experienced riders have told me. but from my experience, in the end if you can control the throttle i don't care if the bike is a 2000cc you should be able to control it.
damn man, i wanna r1 soo baad braa... i think id sacrifice my left nutt for one. i think theyre baad ass and yours is sick. the ? i have for you is do you think an r1 is good for a first bike like to learn driving on? i learned how to drive my acura rsx type s which is a 6speed in like a week so ima quick learner. plus a buddy of mine who just sold his gsxr750 said his bike was all the power you need. yo bro your response would be much appreciated.
@suckuhhballbag420 sorry for the delayed response man. to answer your question since this was my first bike and I pretty much had to learn on it. As long as you have throttle control you could ride a 2000cc bike and you'll be alright. but your buddy is right in a way. I rode my buddy's newer GXS 750 after I sold my R1 and it was quick as heck, plenty of power. Being a quick learner is always an advantage but throttle control is the most important aspect, in my opinion. Hope this helped.
its cool bro.. but i decided to go with an r6 for a couple years and then i'll get me an r1. the r6's are baaad asss looking anyway. the 08 cadmium yellow with the flames turns heads all the way around on some exorcist shit. lol. plus i spent a shit ton of money on a supercharger for my rsx type s. but thanks for the insight man. peace.
