@DARKORBITPYRO lol. Mars is already a barren, lifeless desert. Theres not much more damage we could do to it that hasnt been done already. By colonizing Mars we could actually help save the Earth.
Water is available on both MArs and moon, on MArs, the poles contain a kind of water, that can be made to be drinkable. On the moon, small amounts of water are under the soil of the moon. Most of them are found on the dark side of the moon, where the sun does not shine. Also water can be made from recycled urine or transpiration.
Travelling without old technology as the obsolete spaceshuttle, but travel by using tachyon or small particles. Makes it easer to come further. Also do not forget the T-forumale . T = (Distance x speed ) x density divided by wavepattern to create a forcefield to prevent turning to dust.
they say we either would have to live underground, live in a bubble or wait 100 years so there can be plants and life.... i say both! :D i dun wanna wait 100 years >:c
@1Nekit1 cuz the stupid rich celebrities are greedy pointless bastards that all they care about is themselves (exept for the celebs donating money n such) :P
@TheWaferbaby thered problbly be a war over land... ahh humans an our stupid ways... i hope we get to meet alien though, bt not the creepy big headed ones... like ones off of that mass effect game :PP
all countries with intrests in space exploration and or colinizing mars/moon should work together it would make thing much easier and the cost would not be as much if we did that about 10 years ago we would already be on mars.
in the future, i see a war that will take place between rival countries. its just like land, people will fight for it, in this case it will be countries that will be fighting for space in space.
@FatboyKevin123 Yeah, I wish every country around the world will contribute to the act :( But without it, I think it's selfish for those who don't helpout, to take credit of something they didn't do :(
@FatboyKevin123 Even though it's a bit selfish, I believe that, if the nations can't agree on one flag to represent Earth for space exploration, then the US's flag will suffice. The US is responsible for the most advancements in space anyway and is the most powerful country in the world, we should represent.
For now I know US, EU and Canada plan mission to Mars, Canada, Australia and New Zealand will co finance Aurora Project, and US is also getting in the act, so whole mission might be combined endeavor by 30-32 nations not just US alone.
I didn't mention, India, Russia, China and Brazil as I don't know what they are planing.
Screw that. The nations that actually contribute should take credit. I don't see a reason why Bolivia or Mauritius should be represented in this kind of endeavor.
wat do u mean by all countries. most of the countries out there does not contribute to the space exploration. space exploration cost to much that is credits should go to the countries that participate
@FatboyKevin123 yeah ur right it wud b d achievment of all humans nt sum countries,i think we wud hav free immigration b/w countries within this century when no visa or passport is required to visit any place here on earth when will humans realise we r one yet there r so many things tht divide us
With new Obama's space policy, he didn't set out exactly what he plans, but I think he has some great ideas, and I am confident one of them is a Mars mission by 2030, I am quite sure we going to be on moon by 2027, Mars if ESA, Japanese, Koreans, Canadians and NASA join forces we can be on Mars by 2030, after all ESA plans to send to Mars by 2035. Read on Aurora Space Program :)
There planing a 2013 mission to the moon after the 2013 mission there will be a Colony on the moon by 2020-2050 people will be liveing on the moon mining never heard about the mission to mars but ya if NASA the Koreans Canadians and the Japs all join forces we can explore the Solar system
2013, how sure are you about this info, you have link or something, I'd really like to find out more, as this is quite optimistic time-line :)
I know Obama has been talking about new space doctorine and he is now he is being advised how to proceede, Obama has increased NASA's budget by 1.5 billion for 2009 and further 2.5 billion for 2010, but aims to bring NASA's budget to 0.5% of US GDP with in a decade :) but still,, u have any more info ???
@D21UpstateNY just that mission for mars is slated for 2035/7 time frame and that NASA is working with international partners on this one, ESA being principle partner and few other agencies, JAXA, Canadians and Australians are interested in this project. I have written extensively about this and other space related issues for few major forums on the net, skyscraper city forum being one, look me up under mic of orion.
thnx for clips

Good vid, gives a good idea of the process by which we could eventually colonize mars in the future.

@redmartianresident Soldiers of WWI didn't see us setting foot on the Moon in the next century. Took less than half of one.

IT WILL NEVER BE DONE HELP PEOPLE ON EARTH FIRST FUCK THE MOON AND MARS.
we can protect ourselves from comets just nuke it moving to mars or the moon will not help humans it will cause more arguements.

The clip needs some subtitled commentary for those who aren't familiar with Mars Direct.
As for a flag ... How about NO flag from earth. The settlers can create their own flag and fly it.

If they land on Mars all of Earth should get credit, not just 5 or 6 countries. The Flag should be Earth with all the flags.Or Even better Just Earth
