THANK YOU for posting this one... I almost wet myself when I caught Arlo doing this at SPAC, oh, so many years ago... and it's still funny as ever today... plus my two nieces loved this song when they were little... and I really like youtube's sharig feature... thanks again... dave
He did this at My Father's Place in Roslyn, NY too. I was there. He said of all the songs he ung that night, this is the one we will remember forever, and it is true. No shit.
But WTF is up with embeding being disabled? What cheap shit.
Perhaps so the Guthrie family can retain all the rights and has some control over how it's used? Don't be an jerk, Critter. I'm just happy to see it again.
I saw this show at The Bottom Line in NYC. It was the best. I remember him doing a version of "This Old Man" referring to Regan. I would so love to hear that again.
Hi Jackie, Lindsay just sent me this one. WOW... I'd almost forgotten how goofy things could get at times. Thanks so much for posting these vids. Huge hugs to you both. Much Love, Carol & Steve
Great video. I remember seeing Arlo perform this piece but I do not remember if it was at the Shubert theater in Boston or at the music circus down on the cape. In either case it was a great show. Thank you once again for bringing back good memories.
Hmmm
Nixon-Good leader, corrupted.
Ford-Who?
Carter-Needledick
Reagan-THE MAN!
Bush Sr.-Big Daddy
Clinton-Big Bubba
Bush Jr.-Little Dubya
Obama-the Nigger guy
And lets hope Perry, Palin, or Obama get another one in 2012.

I just knew if anybody had done a remake of this song, it would have been Arlo Guthrie. And who better than him? A consummate entertainer.

Yep, another Paxton song - he has the knack of getting to the very heart of every important issue in modern life.
Arlo has covered a number of Paxton songs and is as great a communicator as Paxton in his concerts.
