  • That has got to be one one the best tracks ive heard made using only the Mc303.....i had one way back when they first come out, i will stick a couple of the tracks on here soon....

  • Best MC-303 Jam (so far) on you-tube! - No contest! I love this track

  • wow, this mc303 has been used well.

  • this is awesome

  • Amazing job!

  • This is by far the best MC-303 demo/song on YT!

  • You can deffo play that! I'm thinking of getting one since they're so cheap and I'm gonna learn how to program it properly! It's not all about the machine...it's about the person operating it!

  • Comment removed

  • You know that machine well! I've owned one for 10 years and can't play it that well. Much respect. Well done.

  • 1:23 :)

  • @FlipminomoviesPT Yes it's possible to connect by MIDI.

  • Can you sample with this or is it just a synthesizer? Can you add a guitar pedal through it?

  • @mishmoshable Nope no samples & no guitar pedal connection

its actually a drumcomputer with synth sounds based on the old Roland stuff

not recomended if u use anlogue synths,or need proffesional FAT sounds & midi control

but as standallone it does the job & is great fun..

if u like this but need a sampler & keys with it & still keep it low budget

u should check the Roland EG101

  • @XHALE303 Ok thanks. I'll check that out.

  • @mishmoshable Yes you can run this machine through a guitar pedal for distortion and such, and with a midi interface can trigger samples on your computer or can contol an external unit. As for analog synths, not sure what XHALE is talking about concidering there are such things as midi to CV converters, and Moog has some cool effects that do just that. Dont let anyone convince you that cost effective is "low buget sound" an instrument is an instument and it is all in how you use it.

  • @mishmoshable If you do your own research youll find gear you did not even know exsisted and find out thngs you didnt know you could do with "Low Buget sounds".

  • Thats good playing there champion! I have one of my own, and you played precise then - well done! Nice tune too!!

  • i have one, how do you save the tempo on a pattern to come back to?

  • You use your machine very well.

  • I WAS going to sell my MC 303 to pay for my JP8000 but...this track changed my mind XD

  • Anyway to get MC-303 samples? I want to see if I would like it.

  • Hay how can i create patterns with the roland mc-303

  • Hay whats up how can i create patterns with the roland mc 303

  • Very very nice!!

  • AWESOME BRO

  • chilled.

  • i've got the same, so i dont know to use it....

  • That is BADASSS!!!! :)

  • Nice song! lol at tweeking the base button :D

  • Great jam session!

  • good job

  • This is a fat jam!!! Good job.

  • Good track

  • very good job ! i used to own one MC303 ten year's ago...this track shows people how far a talented person can go with a sequencer. Respect !

  • Wow. Just bought one of these and messed about with it. Pretty hard to get into so at your level of skill i must take my hat off to you sir.

  • This is my favorite mc-303 video on youtube, nice work!

  • my friends just gave me mine, its broken so my dad is re saudering a circuit and replacing the internal battery for the memory. Amazingly the battery is a small little sony flat battery, I can't think of the type right now, I just thought it was hilarious

  • Nice one man. I love my 303

  • Many Kompliments for this one!! The Off-Beat Clap is telllingly, making it so spectacular for me . ! wooo

  • all i can say is..... NICE

  • great !!!

  • see, as long as a black dude programs the beats or plays the drum kit, i'm happy.; ) nice werk!

  • i enjoy a lot this music

    i want another like this

  • sounds like the theme music for the movie 'the thing' hahaha

  • haha nice

  • my favourite mc 303 tune on youtube

  • nice tune but for some reason it reminds me a little of knight rider. no offence mate

  • the only thing i hated about the mc was the fact that you couldnt save any patches, it was all presets

  • best use of machine i have seen awesome.

  • still love this!

  • i LOOOVE this

  • funny JAM !

  • Love it!

    Good demo and melody!

  • kinda Knight Riderish sounding.

  • Hi, great song!

Have you used arpeggiator to compose most of the tracks? They're fantastic!

  • can use this as a midi instrument? like record the audio into logic for example.

  • yep if you look under the M in mc 303 on back of machine you can see the midi in midi out plugs....

  • @Artekular if you want to record the audio then you're not going to use midi, because then you will only recieve the midi data instead of the actual audio.

  • Can you use this with an external sound module? I am looking at getting one of these and an EMU Orbit, so if anyone knows I would be greatful! :D

  • yeah that is a well used mc303 i am sure .. JUST ONE PATTEN! ... i would hate to think how complex your tunes would be if you utalised all 50 odd of the user pattens lol ... very nice tune there .. i am impressed .. (you played it more like a piano with all the button pressing! :P) .. shame about the sound of the keys clicking ... mby next time record it from a line and turn the mic off? :) .. keep up the good work ... i need to practice more on mine after seeing that haha

  • you are the master of the mc 303, its incredible what you did just there with only one pattern...........

  • is iz a corner of a MC 505 on the left ? ;)

I sold my MC303 ;( - had more punch and better drum editing thanmc 505 which I bought instead ;) still using professionally ! heavily underestimated machine ! ;(

  • Tu maîtrises bien la bête l'ami! Passé à la 505 depuis? peace

  • Thankyou beaucoup, quant au 505 juste stil. d'érudition.

  • For those who can't afford a Groovebox, don't forget you can download an emulation of the original tb-303, tr-808 and tr-909 from the ReBirth museum website.

  • Great pattern!!Really like it!

  • Great groove, nice tune! Respect for doing it with only one pattern :-)

  • I keep coming back to this vid, its most excellent. Its got me wanting to add a 303 my list...

  • sounds like the orb

  • Very nice tune!!!5 stars for you!

  • oooooo mannnnnnn perfekt!!!!!!Respekt von mir!!

  • meh

  • diggin this hard man, nice work

  • Excellent

  • I don't know how to describe it, but this unit just has something about it that every other groovebox I've played lacks. I guess if you're just idly playing it, you wouldn't notice, but once you get inside it, all the way in, when it's the center of your world, this box can blow your mind.

  • I've owned almost every groovebox since the MC-303 and I have to say I agree with you. It's a surprisingly deep machine. I just wish the sequencer was a bit more trust worthy... but for studio jobs its sick. It also has alot of really choice wave forms that seem to have a quality that some of the future groove boxes kind of lack.

  • Ok, could you please give me a bit of insight as to how exactly to get "inside of it"...I've had one know for almost two years and haven't been able to so much as even break the ice with it. I can see by these vids that it is really an awesome machine but, I just don't understand how to get it going.

  • Step 1) Never use presets.

Step 2) Spend hours at a time with it.

Step 3) Plug into something with lotsa bass.

    Step 4) Tweak everything.

Step 5) RESPECT IT. In the words of the great producer Phil Ramone, "If you respect your machines, if you treat them as you would treat any other instrument, they will sing for you."

  • Is it possible that the machine is full of patterns already that the previous owner put on it, which is now not allowing me to create new patterns? Or are there just dozens of pre-programmed patterns already in it?

  • Most of the MC-303 is presets. The U bank is the bank you use to create your own patterns.

  • there is only 50 user rewritable patterns, but annoyingly many many non rewritable patterns. though the limit forces you to be economical.

  • @Chumleh good advice. I had a Groovebox for a year or two and spent many hours on it, constructing extremely complex breakbeats. The instruction manual got so scribbled on and dog-eared. But the memory kept filling up!

  • awesome! i want one now.

  • Reminds me of Velvet Acid Christ.

  • wow - very very good - respect

  • Thats the proper way to use this unit. Keep it up! Cheers

  • Dude, you should put on some tutorials for the 303... this is awesome.

  • I love this video!

  • tight , nice jam

  • hi

i've got a problem with the roland mc 303 when i use "step recording",after 10/11 loops the sequencer lost the tempo without touching any knobs..not too much tempo, just a little bit (a 16th note),but it is very important 4 me that the roland plays right on time 'cause i use the sequencer to make funky/dance studio tracks

do you know how can i resolve this frustrating problem?

    Please let me know,best regard

  • badboy tune, im gonna get myself one of these

  • Great track... Gritty... Only one thing missing though... The B-boys and Fly-girls man.

  • wicked tune, man!!

  • I gotta be honest, this video is the reason I got an MC-303. :)

  • I gotta be honest too, this thing was the worst buy I have ever done.

those stupid keys (well, buttons ofcourse) had latency, very VERY annoying.

I only used it in 'sound-module mode' together with my Atari back in the days (mid 90's)

  • This really really kicks ass. Damn good job man. BEST 303 VIDEO ON YOU TUBE PERIOD!!!

  • awesome

  • Great patterns, great beat, cool video! Nuff said.

  • Very well done. I've just gotten into using a MC-307 a bit more myself. But it would be awesome to be able to operate it like that :) Do you use anything like PTN-call?

  • hey mate i honestly couldnt say with all the machines out there these days, but if you do get a 303 make sur it has instruction manual, it is slow going without it but all in all the 303 is agreat first machine.....

  • hey very smooth mate!

was thinkin of gettin a 303.. i havent really had any experience with making electronic music are they difficult to get the hang of?

would u recommend it as a good piece of hardware to start with?

  • that's a good one ...and here even

  • MC-303 still kicks ass when you know how to use it.

  • yeah rock on with the 303!!!!! old is gold.....

  • Great Stuff..=) Got Mine Today(mc303) + a GrooveSynth:Love It All))

  • cheers mate and all the best on a groovey machine....

  • Very cool,man!

    Clean and great sound!

Your performance is very good too!

  • thanx any comments that are that nice go a long way cheers for the support....

  • Tight.

  • Nice to see someone not using the factory presets.

This is a quality, chilled tune.

Nice work, Gumby. This is good enough for release. 5 stars for you.

  • *LOL* All sounds on this machine are presets. ;) Anyway, very nice tune. MC-303 rules! :D

  • Did you make this with a Mc 303 only ???

  • yeah man 303 only....

  • muy bueno, i have too

  • thats a very talented little mix

  • What tones are you using there dread?? Cool song!!
