NOTE: The Republicans started the war, they had a Republican Congress, Senate and President, they screwed things up for 8 years and when The Liberals steped in, they didnt have enough time to fix 8 years of screwing up America. We also wouldnt be in Iraq or being attacked by terrorists (yes including 911 could have stopped) if we didnt invade the middle east during the early 1990s!
But that's not true. Instead, the Congress will try to pull us out of Iraq and raise our taxes. The Democratic Congress will not do nothing; they will be counterproductive to the progress of this country. In addition, they will claim a "Robin Hood" stance by tremendously increases taxing on "the rich." What do they mean by "the rich"? They don't mean those who have wealth that cannot be taxed (John Kerry and others), they mean those who are out there actually working hard. (continued)
Congress wants out of Iraq? Good. Congress will raise taxes in part to reduce the deficit? Good. As far as I can see, that's not counterproductive, but productive. The Republican party is one that advocates deficit spending and military adventurism, not fiscal responsibility and economic growth.
You haven't addressed my point that taxes make the economy worse, which was what one of my points was. "Economic growth," as you put it, is not reached by higher taxes. Higher taxes actually SUPPRESS economic growth because of, as I said, unwillingness to invest.
Um, no kidding? Why should I even address something I agree with? What the Republicans didn't understand was that when taxes were cut, spending needed to be cut as well to prevent a surging deficit. Instead, Bush has become the biggest spender in history, and we'll have to end up paying for HIS deficit through, take a guess, higher taxes. Or are you advocating we dump higher taxes on our children instead? (continued)
(Continued) The Democrats are big spenders too, but at least they spend what they have. What the Republicans have done over the past six years is inexcusable.
(continued) Taxing those who are earning much would also mean that they would be less willing to invest in the economy - jobs are created FOR the poor when "the rich" who are working for it are able to invest.
don't be an idiot captain. We were all sold a lie from Bush and his administration. This fact is widely accepted and non-disputed unless you are a right-wing, war-mongering radical who believes Bush can do no wrong. Frankly, flip-flopping when presented with new, more accurate information is a trait the Bush admin team could use.
If the democrats win they'll do the exact same thing I do but under a different banner with slightly different rhetorical excuses.

Our troops will stop dying, because they'll be HOME.
But, oh yeah, conservatives assume we'll have higher taxes. That's much worse than dead troops.

What will happen NOW if the Dem's win the White House: - this guy will pay more taxes because he is probably super-rich.....poor guy
- the working poor will become wealthier, decreasing the gap between flat-broke people and filthy rich. The middle class will be back.
- WW3 will not happen because Bush will be sitting on his dumb ass in Crawford, TX.
Sounds good to me. FUCK THE GOP.

I'd rather have a Democratic congress that sits back and does nothing over a Republican congress that fast-tracks anything and everything Bush wants.
