Spanning the globe to bring you the constant variety of sport! The thrill of victory...and the agony of defeat! The human drama of athletic competition! This is ABC's Wide World of Sports! Class act. R.I.P Jim
some people really need to go back to school ..... They're = They are .... Their = belonging to them .. as in "The kids don't want to go to their hockey game." Therefore "Their all gone" makes no sense at all. Anyone with a 4th grade education should know this.
Jim McKay was just terrific. I grew up listening to him on WWOS and the Olympics. He was the standard of sports broadcasting and still is. And he was the face and the voice of those terrible first days of Jr. High for me in Sept of 1972.
once there was a zombie that was living under somebodys basement. one day that same person invited six friends to have a sleepover at his basement. after that night they were never seen again. if you dont copy and paste this into 10 videos in less than a week the zombie will take you and you will be never seen again. I TOLD YOU NOT TO READ THIS!!!!!
I grew up watching Wide World of Sports and to hear Jim McKay's voice, "Bringing you the Constant Variety of Sports," was a Saturday afternoon delight. This man personified class and dignity, I wish I had followed my dream and become like him.
I find it hard to find the right words to describe Jim McKay, his touch was so perfect that he was not as famous as Keith Jackson, Curt Gowdy or Frank Gifford, but you sure miss him when he's gone.
i was at sears in sept.1972. nine years old and all excited about getting a new bike. in the pickup room they had a tv and jim mckay came on telling the unfortunate drama that had unfolded in munich. the emotional way he came across was unforgettable. great sportscaster, great human being. GOD BLESS YOU JIM!

Simply put, Jim McKay was the equivalent of Walter Chronkite in news. Just a well respected, well liked, and trusted journalist.

Please don't insult Jim McKay by comparing him to Cronkite.
Mr. McKay lived his life out in style - Cronkite has turned into an old coot.
