    By any chance, Do you know how to take a UNIX Executable File, and some how when it is opened, it is ran in the bg???

  • @Appleman5487 - Hi Appleman, sorry for the late response. Work has been busy, and stressful. I think that the videos in lesson 21 might help you.

    However, to start a job in the background, put & sign at the end: "script.ksh &".

    The output will still go to your screen. To capture the output:

    "Script.ksh 1>Out.txt 2>&1 &". Normal output, and errors go to Out.txt.

    If you want to be able to log out while the job is running, and not kill the job, put a "nohup in front" for no hangup.
