  • thinking about getting the complete system including the sport down pipes. but fear about the CEL issue.

  • @namo8c Well, as you're going all the way with the full system it's worth to tune the ECU as well and remove the 2nd lambda functions. This way you're looking at more than 400 hp (30more, with the full exhaust it's already 370) and you'll never get a CEL.

  • @Supersprintcom : Where Im at there isnt a place to do some ECU tuning..But...I might be getting an R-Evolve stand alone unit and from what I read i can do it on my own inlcuding removing the the CEL light ..?? whats your take on this ?

  • @evofreak1304 They are both great cars, fun to drive and nice to look at..which Evo do you have? The best of the lot for me it's the IX, but the TME is great too.

    The 135 doesn't have the M-diff, in fact the 1M has the whole rear axle from the M3.

    The front suspension are different

    A lot of panels are different as well as the full exhaust, the ecu map, there's an oil radiator and other modifications.

    Also the gearbox is manual for a reason, driving pleasure.

    Of course you can do all these modifications on a 135i but you're probably going to pay more and have a car which is not approved for road use.

  • @p1inthestreets Personally, I think the last real M was the E46. Naturally Aspirated Inline 6 and a true manual gearbox. The new BMW M3 coming out next year will also have an Inline 6, but with the use of turbos and probably won't offer a manual. 1M thankfully is only available Manual, and it's a fantastic car, but M cars should not have replacement for displacement.

  • @Anoush13 new M5 is turbo too and it offers a 6 speed manual and a 7 speed DCT.

    so the new M3 could also offer both of these.

  • @Anoush13 As you know, car companies are always trying to get lower fuel consumption and emissions, turbo engines are one of the best ways to get power and torque, using smaller engines. I think the E92 will be the last M car with a NA engine, that is very sad. But I think this 1M and the M3 E93 are real M cars. I hope they'll still offer a manual on the new M3. Porsche has gone for a 7 speed manual gearbox after all, along with the PDK.

    Sound is a matter of taste, the M3 V8 sounds angrier and more exotic, but there's no definitive answer about which is better. I like both!

  • Love it! You can really hear the difference in a turbo'd car with larger downpipes vs the stock downpipes.
