Simon > Lemarr, Lemarr was great but simon was so damn funny and much more cruel than mark he turns on the guest's which is just quality

Really to me anyway, Simon always looked like he was trying too hard, as he knew the big hole Mark had left would be tough to fill, so instead of seeming natural he seemed very forced. Also I think it's cause mark was always the dominant one of the three, and that moved to phil after simon took over

The main reason Lamarr was a better host in my opinion is that he has a vast musical knowledge that Amstell severely lacked. Something pretty vital when your hosting a music quiz

The sugababes jokes got old with Amstell very quickly and he relyed heavily on insulting people to get his laughs. I think he was a funny host on occasion but Lamarr was far better I think.

I love both Lamarr and Amstell equally. It's just I have really low tolerance for low quality videos on youtube, which happen to be all pre-amstell vids.

Slightly upsetting but hopefully that'll change.

I worked out the other day why Mark is MUCH better than Simon. It's the way the comedy from the host operates. Whenever Mark is the host, he doesn't have to strive for the humour. The guests usually did someone stupid and not that funny and Mark just had to dispense of them efficiently. Simon however - and you'll notice this more when you watch him - will say to a guest, 'I read that you have........etc' and will THEN make a joke about them. It's harsh but in the wrong way.

@justgoingdownx very true. Bill actually left, and Phill seemed to have lost all interest in the game in Simon's last season.. I found Simon to be hilarious (less so in the last season), but they all seemed to be having more spontaneous fun on the Lamarr ones. From season this year with all the guest hosts, Rhod Gilbert seemed to actually do quite well matching Lamarr in that respect.

@justgoingdownx Simon is a funny and intelligent man, and did inject some new vibrancy into the format after Mark stopped disguising his growing boredom, but Simon never really gelled with the captains like Mark did. Both Phill and Bill have since said they preferred working with Mark.
