  • Sifu Jack Sera the hand chosen Sifu by Lo Sifu Jimmy H. Woo. Man you guys have the very best teachers in here on video.

  • Thanks for putting this up man, i enjoyed it a great deal, very informative, if you have anything more with Jack then please put it up .

  • This is a very good point! My instructor taught that the pinky finger provides most of the power/control in your hand hold. Also increased overall finger strength lessens his abuility to pull out of your grip. A person who works with their hands, such as a plummer or mechanic, will have a stronger grip. A person with a smaller hand will have more difficulty executing a leverage against a stronger opponent. Distraction and proper overall technique increases success in executing all leverages.

  • Maybe that is why so many hold breaks (wrist grab escapes, hand shake reversals) have little finger peel off and breaks?

In MMA competitions there are rules against small joint manipulations; which of course means no finger breaks allowed.

I always hear the "battle cry" of MMA sycophants, that no little finger break will stop them! Of course, eye pokes and gouges won't stop them either (or so they say). How many UFC fighters have not been able to continue because of an accidental eye poke?

  • Good point... Broken fingers is a good distraction and a deflated eye will disable most, if not all attackers.

  • Master Jack Sera with my instructor Robert@TMI in the pre-TMI days.

This clip is from Private lessons Robert had with Jack. Informal, unrehearsed interaction... So if you have a gripe about the mode and exact choice of words of explanation during this PRIVATE, NON-CLASSROOM INTERACTION, then go pound sand.
