I have a question, though. Back when 1.0 was released I jailbroke my iPod Touch.

I then unjailbroke it to have access to the app store and since then, I've never jailbroken my iPod again.

I was just wondering (since I have, invested a lot of money on apps), when I upgrade to 3.0 then jailbreak my iPod, will my apps disappear?

back up your ipod before you jailbrake it then you'll be fine.

Btw your device will only be "bricked" if you install a beta firmware and you don't have your device registered to an Apple Developer's account. To unbrick, simply restore back to original firmware.

There are countless people who got their devices bricked by installing the 3.0 firmware without their devices registered. In addition, 3.1 beta is out now and still some people who aren't registered are getting bricked.

Jailbreaking the current firmware however, hasn't bricked anyone's device.
